This is an arrangement of the song Halloween World from the game Baby Felix Halloween for the Gameboy Colour

Happy Halloween!
Can you believe it's been 10 years since my first Halloween special?
That was all the way back in 2013...! (Spooky Touhou Skeletons)

For this arrange, i wanted to make something that balanced a modernisation or "remaster" feeling, while still respecting the feeling of the original, so i tried my best to make the instruments "feel" like they still have that "impact", it's hard to describe, it's like a feeling thing, but basically, i really love the original, so i wanted to do it justice while still implementing some of my own elements into it

I'd say that Jake Kaufman was also a huge inspiration for me here, particularly his work on Ducktales Remastered, the way Jake balanced modernisation and respect for the originals really felt amazing back then, and it still does (go listen to his Transylvania arrange!)

In terms of wacky  new elements, well, there's a guitar here, i played it myself actually! It wasn't easy, but thankfully, i went for a more "digital" style, so editing the guitar notes manually was perfectly fine, that way, they fit the original's chiptune vibe more with this kind of "digital" feeling
And, yes, dubstep, that's right, i spent like 5 hours on that part with Serum haha, but it was so worth it in my opinion, surprising people with dubstep is just the funniest stuff ever when it comes to music, especially if people hate dubstep, that makes it better

Alberto Jose Gonzalez is a very good composer, i hope that he will come back and make more music to be honest, i think he would do really well in the indie scene! (...And also, Tim Follin, please, you too, come on (i know it's a lost cause though, but have you HEARD Plok Beach??? Holy shit am i right?))

This song was kind of a meme in my friend group by the way
Like, i would share this song a lot with friends, and it eventually became a bit of a running joke that i was so excited about something as shitty as "Baby Felix Halloween", because on the surface level, you don't expect a game like that to have such a banger and memorable OST, but Alberto really surprised everyone i think, i still come back to it a lot

Anyways, my friends started noticing how much i liked this song, and then one of them asked "if you like it so much, then why don't you arrange it?"
So then, i looked up arranges of this song, AND I COULD ONLY FIND ONE?!?!?!
And i was like "wait, no, this is a good song, why is it not more popular to arrange?"
So hey, here i am, trying to be the change i want to see in the world
So, this exists now!

I wanted to make it a bit longer too of course, but Halloween was approaching fast, and i have a lot of work to do on more game OST's, so please look forward to that!

For this piece, I wanted to take a shot at creating an orchestra comprised of only the "Modern" synth sounds that came with the software to showcase how much versatility it offers in building off the original SID chip — and ended up riffing on several classic works in the process.
