The sixth of the LDG Mix Series is experimental and ritualistic, hypnotic and abstract, and we feature Mike Parker, a master who has had a huge impact and influence on the techno scene for a long time.

This is a recording of the EDEN Promo Party held at WOMB in July 2023. Dance set on a big floor, minimal and dope worldview, enjoy an updated Mike Parker!

Polo and Steffen Bennemann are two old friends who have been playing together for many years: There is a deep connection that also expresses itself sonically - above all the joy of telling a story together, each with their own means, in constant dialog. 

This recording shows the two of them in one of their favourite places: As part of the summer edition of the Berlin party series STAUB, in the garden of a club named about blank. Sunset and pure Techno.

Giulia Fournier-Mercadante (GiGi FM) is a multi-disciplinary artist, DJ, resident of NTS Radio, dancer and music producer. Boldly versatile, GiGi FM’s selections have charmed bodies on dancefloors all across the world, such as Berghain, Rural Japan, Draaimolen, Fabric, De School, Primavera, The Bunker New York, and Sustain Release. In the booth her genre-defying spirit is in full effect with techno, bass, breaks and ambient all coming in to play.

Deeply influenced by astrology, philosophy and the cosmos; for GiGi, music is both a tool for expression and introspection. As a multi- hyphenate artist, she continues on her quest to push artistic boundaries and hold space for unique audience experiences. Whatever medium she may adopt, the result is a rich embodiment of the interconnectedness of sound, colour, movement and metaphysics.

Pianeti Sintetici ('synthetic planets' in Italian) is a new conceptual project by Davide Perrone (Primal Code) that draws inspiration from the factories of Magrathea, a planet in Douglas Adams' classic space opera The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, where artificial planets are manufactured on commission.

“This concept has always fascinated me, and I chose the name to frame a hypothetical future of synthetic worlds, told with sound,' Davide says. 'I like to imagine the howls of creatures inhabiting solar systems outside our own. Rarefied atmospheres, alien sequences, and unfamiliar tonal scales. So, I see Pianeti Sintetici as an open-ended design research project where I can explore these inspirations.”

Pianeti Sintetici already has three stand out releases on the legendary Hypnus records and has played a string of mind bending shows, including this mix, which is a live set from the 2023 edition of Positive Education. As we enjoyed this one a lot, Simon Popp and I wanted to share our live improvisation session for Intimacy Quarterly at Blitz Club Munich from January 2024. 
Simon Popp is a very talented jazz drummer who is capable of creating complex yet beautiful sound art with his big variety of timbres in his drum set. Following the aesthetics and ideas of our collab album 'Candid' on the Munich based label Squama records, we created a little sonic journey with loads of sound design experiments.

Amulador is a moving entity. Always circumspect, he activates the mechanism and dives into the unknown. Away from the hype and from the enlightened figure that is associated to DJs, he rather focus the spotlight into the columns, delivering risky and nonconformist music, capturing the most abstract and pulsating edges of today's electronic music. He combines high-speed trips with different perspectives, that can be melodic and subtle or rhythmic and scathing. Deviant walks through peculiar landscapes are marked with mirages of expectation, opening doors to cinematic fantasy. Amulador makes his name through the quiet shadows, initiating a musical continuum without precedent. He may be a rare appearance, but always a strong one.
