Curated by Eleni Ikoniadou and featuring five tracks by AGF, Chino Amobi, Lafawndah & Trustfall, Harrga and Savvas Metaxas, 'Future Chorus' is based on a collection of readings, spoken word, nonlinguistic sound, poetry, MCing, cello and animal sounds. The material was combined with machine learning processes for the artificial generation of a new voice speaking a nonhuman language. The vocal database and AI voice became the raw material for five remixes.

This release is a collaboration between Hypermedium and MAENADS. Created by Eleni Ikoniadou in collaboration with Anne Duffau and Aphroditi Psarra, MAENADS is a platform for collective projects, sonic, visual, performative or text-based, unleashing works that seek to inhabit polyphonic narratives, other worlds and subjectivities, group joy.

For the second year in a row, Be Your Own Studio Label presents Be Vol.2, its annual VA album that tries to reflect universal life experiences through the vision of a refined selection of artists. 
After a few years of pandemic, lockdowns and uncertainty, this year theme was 'flourish', life  return, the resurgence.

This year's roster brings us artist from Spain (Gleezy, Idriss Reina, Nau Leone), England (ARVØW) and Belgium (Pjets ft. Elle a L’aura).
From the quietest ambient to the most danceable electronica. 5 artists and 5 songs that show us the great versatility behind this record label.

Gleezy opens up the album with Scarlet Sky, a track that immerses you and makes you fly in equal parts, ambient, beautiful melodies and a drop that will not leave you indifferent.
British artist ARVØW continues with Detox, an uplifting synth sequence meshed with hard hitting drums made to create a feeling of euphoria and revitalisation in oneself. 
The third track is signed by Nau Leone and brings a clear message: Everything Will Bloom Again. A kind song that progresses and evolves until it explodes in a final celebration.
Malaga based young producer Idriss Reina debuts on the label with Proceso, a song that gives us tension, a lot of groove, percussion, synthesizers, progression and a mastery of breaks and rhythm changes.
The album concludes with the great collaboration between Pjets and Elle a L'aura, and their track Wonder Why. An epic song with touches of ambient and drum'n bass. Full of synthesizers and a magnificent voice from Elle a L'aura.

Daughter Of The Forest

The trudges through the crepuscule lanes, where cedar branches release the drops and the forest is manumitted from the quietness. Zhe Pechorin gathered the wind-filled assembly for Amulet of Tears.

Guidance and close approach to tenebrous force. Lambently textured mix of meandering piano, long-wave static and clamorous nigrescence draws out the new palette of drones ahead in the raptures of dim, deliberately intoxicating the silence.

Zhe Pechorin is a moniker of Belgrade-based artist Andjelina Micic, who takes the melding influx through the smoke swirling tension.

This month’s Amulet of Tears mix comes from Istanbul-based artist Ekin Fil, which is veiled in reechoing wind, freefalling from misty sky. 

The mix embodies acoustic qualities over tangibility of the spatial structure of turbulence - the sound, which unites phenomena, a vast world in yielding shafts, pliant brims with billows - stream of rush-hour merged into a single point.

Tahtib is food for your mystical post-exotica musical landscape - hand drums played by computers fall with a squelch into the swamp, horses neigh at dub bassists, there’s water everywhere full of urchins and tarot cards and just when you think you need to breathe this record breathes for you. Tahtib’s future ambient glyphs are matched with the rapid-fire staccato "taks” of imaginary tahtib sticks (tahtib is an Upper Egyptian martial art which was enjoyed and practiced by Leila's grandfather Baba Aly). Leila Hassan sings seamlessly between Arabic and Italian (and possibly more) breathing pure soundart alchemy across Francesco Cavaliere’s library of sound effects and textures. 

You remember Sea Urchin? They added their signature aquatics to Osaka-native 7FO’s 7” for Bokeh back in 2017. The duo of Leila Hassan and Francesco Cavaliere debuted a totally unique expression of ‘library music as future music’ on a series of small run cassettes before their proper debut LP Yaqaza was released on legendary Belgian imprint Kraak (Pan American, Limpe Fuchs, Typhonian Highlife). This caught the ear of Bokeh designer svengali Patrick Savile, who adds his vision to the LP cover. Francesco has also released solo explorations on Hundebiss (Kelman Duran, Lil Ugly Mane) and Edições Cn (Dolphins Into The Future).
