From humble origins in the world of online radio, Zero Method has risen up and taken a firm hold on the drum & bass universe. After releases on DSC14, Habit, Trust In Music and more, as well as his massive number one remix of Mindscape & Ryme Tyme’s track Sickness for Citrus. His music has garnered support from Ed Rush, Teebee, Chris.su and others, and now Zero is ready for Deep Fields – his new album on Optiv’s amazing Red Light label.

Taking influence from the likes of Bad Company, Kemal and C4C, he has developed his own sound based around a pure d&b ethos, keeping things clean and simple in the mix, and appealing to crowds and followers all around the world. He first hooked up with Red Light Recordings back in 2011, and after two EPs on the label, started work on Deep Fields back in 2013.

Setting the tone right from the deep, ominous intro, the album captures the imagination, artistry and delivery of Zero Method. Spotcrime is a fast-paced glimpse into the future, with ZM building in levels of drums, percussion and freaky, creepy samples, before Analog drops things down, with driving, pulsating sounds over a bed of mashed up beats and heavyweight basslines.

Fake Device develops the themes and ideas of Deep Fields further and in more depth, as a live-sounding drum set erupts into an almighty drop, resulting in a track of maddening genius. Feel the funk of the Fake Device. Zero Method then teams up with L33 to explore some lower Frequencies, the two producers swapping ideas around, and coming up with a monster of a tune, tough, ready and resolute.

Feel the fear and paranoia of Out Of Control, as marching beats take over your system and smart, snappy electronics take the lead. Hardware is another smasher, going all out in a militaristic display of hard drum & bass music, and Around Us will leave an impression on your brain and your soul with its insistent, insect-like creeping effects and samples.

We are proud to present to you our next d’n’b-themed vinyl release, which comes with two absolutely fantastic deep-bassed and crisp-beated rollers. In the case of this record, we can speak of a small Polish invasion, as both tracks have been written and produced by two Polish supertalents – @mortem1, who has been making big waves in the d’n’b industry for some time already, and @harland – an established Warsaw-based event promoter and DJ, and a now-upcoming producer, teaming up with Mortem on the flipside. Starting off with Mortem’s “Proximity”, you’ll surely appreciate his trademark to-the-point drumwork and clear basslines, adorned with intriguing vocal inserts and growling synths. “The Same”, with its quick-paced hi-hats, riveting synthetic melody, and spacious bassline, is surely more dancefloor-oriented, but still fits the deeper side of d’n’b perfectly, making this record as a whole a very welcome addition to the Absys family.
