Great work Amy. Your songs at times, can tend to really tug at the heart strings but I also find your voice so easy to listen too. You have a natural talent. 

My own interpretation of this John  Sebastian and The Lovin' Spoonful's memorable tune (circa 1967). "Darlin' Be Home Soon" (or "Darling, Be Home Soon"), a song written by John Sebastian of The Lovin' Spoonful for the soundtrack of Francis Ford Coppola's film 'You're a Big Boy Now". It appeared on The Lovin' Spoonful's 1967 soundtrack album - also entitled "You're a Big Boy Now". Originally, "Darling" was released as a single, reaching #15 on the US pop charts.

Bringing It Home - Collab with Lizzie Taypen

Inspired by a memory of harvesting sedge for thatched roofs. Swinging the scythe is fun, listening to the warbler birds and watching for small lizards and other wildlife. It becomes hard work and then the sharp edges of the long dry grassy leaves cut your fingers to ribbons. It is a rewarding and 'real' feeling to carry the bundles away from the fen bank by small boat.

Edmund's mother would drive sometimes for days. Never going anywhere, just somewhere. Somewhere that wasn't there. Another burned out sign to a cheap motel; deep in the humid swamps of the bitter south. A time to stop and rest for a day, maybe two. This life inside her was wanting to see the world.
 Flames and retribution and shame, an archaic remnant to what wanted her to speak no more. Edmund was to be born that day in the swamps.  That day when the cicadas roared like a chorus through sweat and fire. The traveler was born at 3:33 pm

Then one day my chance came,
When Danny Briggs called you names,
I stood my ground, clenched my cheek,
He knocked me clean into next week.

Then you stepped forward and with one hand,
Threw him over your shoulder, I watched him land,
I never knew you did karate,
Then you turned and invited me to your party.
