How does an enslaved woman's song from 1830s in Georgia end up on a 1950s radio program in South Africa and in a modern singing class? This is the surprising story of an African-born woman named Tena, whose music has echoed for generations across continents, airwaves, and even college classrooms. Mary Caton Lingold (Virginia Commonwealth University) first encountered Tena’s song in a book of sheet music by Carl Sandburg but a series of events led her to uncover details about Tena’s life in living memories of her enslavers’ descendants and in archival recordings and documents. This episode is about Tena's life and legacy, the challenges of researching enslaved women’s lives, and how sound and performance can open up new ways of engaging with the past.

FREE.D's experiment with new studio treasure Sub 37 results in rolling melody over the groovy bassline in his new track "Rotate". As he said FREE.D was literally rotating the new synth over and over and that's where he lost the count of the days. "Rotate" is all about creativity and simplicity at the same time. As the opposite FREE.D is putting into this EP a complex and more sound design driven track "What Saw Ever" with unexpected ideas that was inspiring to hear!

Love Was Never Lost

The opening release of this year for Aletheia Recordings is by the UK producer Talal together with Frequenza labelhead Nihil Young.
'Touch' is the sensitive track featuring the graceful vocals from Amy Wawn, which is interpreted in different visions, whereas all of them are worth to be spoken about.
The powerful and floor-oriented original mix is captured in the diverse remixes, which are simultaneously easy to dance and dream to.
Ewan Rill is well-known for progressive house lovers with dozens of quality records released via Sudbeat, Balance Music and The Soundgarten, so his remix embraces the best of his style: progressive, moving and never-ending groove around the original Amy's vocals.
Remix from Yacine Dessouki & NDRK is completing the package, this talented duo has already marked their sound with EPs on Agoria's Sapiens label and Underground Audio. This time their powerful remix, which is highlighting the dense groove and sharp sounds, fits perfectly for the whole pack.
