In a very special edition of our Basement Tracks series, house legends Alan Fitzpatrick and DJ Deeon team up on a Chicago-inspired house track, later flipped by Shall Not Fade family member, DJOKO. 

A figure who needs little introduction, Alan Fitzpatrick has long been electrifying dance floors with his big-room selections and production. This EP sees the tech-house icon collaborate with the equally illustrious DJ Deeon on a track which gleams from the Chicago producer’s musical heritage in juke and Ghetto house. ‘Shake That Thang’ cruises along a deep house beat whilst Deeon’s unmistakable vocal chops float over the top, offering a blissed-out take on the genre before Cologne’s house music stalwart DJOKO who brings the funk on a buoyant flip. Rounding things off, ‘Learning to Love’ sees Fitzpatrick fly solo with a sunshine-doused melody and euphoric drops. This one’s sure to be heard on festival stages all across the globe this summer.

We're back with another label debut this month from Spanish DJ and producer, Javi Bora, who teams up with fellow Spaniard, Richard Ulh, for their brand-new release, 'Get Down To Work' featuring a remix from the super talented Cinthie to complete the package. Javi Bora has gained respect and recognition as one of Ibiza's best resident DJs over the years. His productions, carefully balanced between classy House and groovy Tech House have earned the support of international first-class artists including Steve Lawler, Groove Armada, DJ Sneak, Richy Ahmed and Nic Fanciulli. Richard Ulh on the other hand has seen his productions find homes on some of the most respected labels in the scene including Solid Grooves, REALM, Knee Deep In Sound, Sink Or Swim and Too Many Rules. 'Get Down To Work' oozes sophistication, delivering heavyweight house percussion, a pulsating bass line which underpins a hypnotic vocal lick and intoxicating synths. Cinthie's remix takes on a slightly more underground persuasion offering taught synths, rhythmically charged percussion and crisp drum grooves. Enjoy!

Emerging as one of Sweden's rising stars, Storken stands at the crossroads of Stockholm's vibrant urban pulse and the serene beauty of the Swedish countryside. Born in '93, he grew up in a family of musicians, immersed in the sounds of iconic 80s legends like Phil Collins, Queen, and Tina Turner. This musical upbringing ignited a fascination that drove him to master an array of instruments, from drums and guitars to piano and turntables. In tandem with his musical exploration, Storken delved into the realm of philosophy, creating a unique foundation for his artistic expression.

As he embarked on his musical voyage, the sonic tapestry of underground electronic genres lured him in, captivating his heart. Drawing from the rich tapestry of his upbringing, he ingeniously intertwines the deep-seated traditions of Sweden's hinterlands with the magnetic allure of electronic disco. This innovative blend reverberates through his debut release, "Lille Vals," on Gerd Janson's esteemed label, 'Running Back.' The launchpad for his artistic trajectory, this release resonated across the global dance music scene.

Storken's debut EP, 'Skogsdisko,' further crystallizes his distinctive style, channeling the spirit of the Swedish wilderness into an electronic disco soundscape. This evolution hasn't gone unnoticed, capturing the attention and support of esteemed figures like Annie Mac, Pete Tong, Folamour, The Blessed Madonna, Purple Disco Machine, Patrick Topping, Andhim, and Krystal Klear. These artists recognized his remarkable ability to weave a new narrative in the world of electronic music, where tradition meets innovation.

Storken's dynamic presence is equally felt in his performances, taking audiences on a journey that traverses the realms of nostalgia and futurism. From the sun-soaked shores of Brighton Beach to the neon-lit landscapes of Berlin's Kater Blau, his sets pulse with a diverse range of venues. His charisma is put on display whether he's orchestrating a b2b with Brynjolfur, setting dancefloors ablaze with Kornel Kovacs or Mall Grab, or captivating crowds in Mexico City, Monterrey, Lausanne, or Geneva.

With one foot in the heart of Stockholm and the other in the soul of the Swedish hills, Storken's artistic evolution continues to unfold as he forges a path that effortlessly bridges past and present, forging a new wave of disco on the global map.
