Amsterdam-based Pip Blom has shared the second song on her recent AA-side 7”, listen to ‘School’ here. The song follows the recently aired ‘Babies Are A Lie’ with the vinyl now available on Nice Swan Records (Dead Pretties, Queen Zee & The Sasstones).

Since first airing her angst-ridden brand of lo-fi indie last year, Pip Blom hasn’t been one to hang around. Four singles released in quick succession introduced her music to listeners far wider than her native Netherlands, with airplay across the likes of American radio station KCRW, BBC Radio One and 6 Music ensuring songs Pip had simply uploaded to the Internet hit hundreds of thousands of streams.

Are We There Yet? followed, a three-track EP showcasing the 21-year-old musician’s art for subtle, yet effortlessly catchy melodies. Self-recorded, each track across the release occupies a different headspace and is packed with rough-edged charm; whetting the appetite for what may lie in wait for Pip’s debut full-length.

‘School’ and its flipside ‘Babies Are A Lie’ are next in a growing catalogue of notable releases. Warming guitars and string accompaniment throughout highlights ‘Babies…’, which is centred on Pip’s undeniable gift for a standout chorus. On the flip, ‘School’ is a fuzzier, raucous showcasing of her ability writing great, hooky rock songs.

Pip and band are fresh from a recent UK tour, including a sell-out London show at The Sebright Arms, following a EU festival run, including much-talked about appearances at The Great Escape Festival and On Blackheath Festival, amongst others, along with support slots to the likes of Interpol and The Districts.
