Amy LaVere

Hailed by critics as “a uniquely Memphis blend of grit and delicacy” and “filled with just enough charm to melt the heart,” Amy LaVere is an American singer, songwriter, bass player, and storyteller. She has recorded two albums on the Archer Records label — This World Is Not My Home(2005) and Anchors & Anvils(2007) — and an EP, Died of Love (2009). The London Times says Amy “takes the audience into a world where R&B tunes, country waltzes, rockabilly shuffles, and funky Americana music are welded together and given a slightly Gothic twist.” Appearances on Conan O’Brien and at London’s Royal Albert Hall have introduced her to audiences around the world. Amy recently completed her newest album, Stranger Me, with noted UK producer/engineer Craig Silvey (Arcade Fire). Amy will embark on an American and European tour to promote the record following its July 2011 release. Legendary producer Jim Dickinson, who helmed Anchors & Anvils, said, “She has the whole package. You run across artists all the time who have part of it, but she has it all.”
