I used to release a regular mixtape called Rhythm and Roots presenting inspirations and new tunes from around the world - digital crate digging. I don't have time to keep up with Rhythm and Roots anymore but I miss making mixtapes and presenting the incredible music coming out of bedrooms and studios from Germany to Ghana. A lot of tracks new and old, juxtaposed, overlaid, edited, melted together :)

Owlspirations Mixtape I

Sunrise set recorded live at the Dakar Music Festival on November 11, 2017. Spending 10 days in this African wonder was a truly incredible experience. From playing underneath the African Renaissance Monument, visiting the small island of Goree, gazing upon the wildlife at the Bandia reserve, and befriending so many wonderful locals, Senegal will remain close to my heart throughout this lifetime. Thank you Africa.

A few months ago we were contacted by the head of Vice China who had discovered Shika Shika and our artists and loved the music. After much back and forth they today premiered an exclusive mixtape alongside an interview with us (you can see it here, in Mandarin: http://noisey.vice.cn/read/new-voice-of-electronic-and-world-music-from-shika-shika)

This has been surprising and amazing -  testament to the globality and interconnectedness of today's music scene. Through this we are in touch with some Chinese producers and are exploring the possibility of touring in China.

We thought we would share the mixtape as it is a bit of an introduction // Shika Shika's Greatest Hits, put together by El Búho and full of Sh Sh gems past and present. Tracklist below
