Anabelle Kay is a 22 year old singer/songwriter born and bred on the Central Coast of NSW. Though only young, the delicate songstress makes enchanting country/folk music that belies her years. Anabelle grew up in an entirely non-musical family, but despite this, managed to convince her mother to enrol her in piano lessons, which kick-started her musical journey. This journey continued when, in 2006, Anabelle moved to live in a remote area of Oklahoma in the United States. The frustration of living in such an isolated community drove her to pick up a guitar, apply her piano know-how, and begin to write songs. The result is her self-titled debut EP, a seven track exploration and celebration of Anabelle ‘s musical journey to date. It’s a combination of gorgeous country and beautiful folk, with delightful acoustic and electric guitars, strings and banjos strewn throughout. However, the highlight is Anabelle’s signature voice, which so beautifully conveys the myriad emotions prevalent in her lyrics.
