This is the first song that I've written and recorded; it was done for a studio class, so bear in mind that I am incredibly new to this, and this is by no means the final version of this particular tune.

The project itself required that we create everything using Ableton Live 7. As such, each section was recorded and programmed separately and, as Ableton does not appear to be meant as recording software, the guitar was run through a distortion pedal to achieve something resembling the desired sound. Both it and the bass were recorded 4-8 bars at a time, due to the project's requirements, and the fact that I only had about two days to record and program all the parts before moving on to "mixing" and adding all the effects the teacher required us to use.

As for the song itself, I've been sitting on this song for about two years, and decided to dust it off and use it for this project. It was the first thing I'd written that was meant to have electronic elements, and I'd already memorized the guitar/bass parts, so it made a good fit for what I needed it to do.

With all that said, I realize the internet is not always the kindest place when it comes to getting constructive feedback, so if you offer any advice (which I really hope some of you do), please bear in mind that this is my first attempt at any kind of recording/mixing/programming, and the technical limitations I outlined when recording the guitar. Also, I would like to thank my friend Lefty Twilight for providing some much needed feedback on the song's composition; a lot of the guitar parts (and some of the bass) were rearranged by him, so it's only fair that he gets credit for them. Unacceptable Outcome (Demo)

Here's a short blues/rock tune I put together for a recording class final. The assignment was to take a short drum recording with about 20 channels in various room setups, select the mic and room positions we wanted, then edit the drums into a short song and add other instruments to create a tune. This is what I came up with. All tones came from stock Pro Tools 10 plugins and various pickup positions on my guitar and bass.

I might come back to this at a later date and turn it into a cleaner (And less rushed) tune). Who knows. For now, feedback is appreciated.
