Le défi

Ceux qui me connaissent bien savent que je suis toujours prête à relever des défis ;)

Dans ce cas-ci, je pense que c'était de créer ce voyage musical tout en restant fidèle aux artistes que je supporte depuis des années. Performant durant un cours de slow vinyasa, qui est une technique de yoga lente et soutenue, j'ai voulu balancer le mix entre des pièces ambiantes et rythmées, tout comme notre respiration lors d'un effort physique, entrainant l'auditeur dans une captivante découverte de soi.

Pourquoi?

Ayant plusieurs membres de ma famille atteint de maladies mentales graves, la musique a toujours été une moyen de nous connecter d'une façon profonde et authentique. Je rêvai depuis plusieurs années à une façon de pouvoir combiner cette passion tout en aidant les gens qui en aurait le plus besoin. C'est pourquoi j'ai rejoint l'équipe de FK EN MUSIQUE et la motivation qui me pousse à évoluer au sein de celle-ci ne fait que grandir. 

The Challenge

The people that know well me knows that I'm always down for a good challenge. ;) What was most difficult in that case, was to create this musical journey while staying true to the vibe of the artists I've been supporting for years. Performing during a slow vinyasa course, which is a very slow and sustained yoga practice, I balanced the mix between ambient and downtempo tracks, like our breathing during a physical effort, bringing the listeners to a captivating self-discovery journey.

Why? 

Having many of my family members suffering with severe mental illnesses, music have always been a profond and authentic way for us to connect. My dream was to use this passion that I had since childhood to help the people that were most in needs. This is the reason why I joined the SOUND OF CF crew and the motivation that pushed me to evolve with them continues to grow every day.

Our Fifth Exclusive Series Mix takes us to Montreal, Canada and Anais Ley.  

Infused into music from an early age, Anaïs Ley started her Dj career back in 2011 in Montreal. From there, she just followed her heart and was determined to better herself in this art.  Always eager to discover fresh beats, her purpose is to push the boundaries by rising the energy of the room using an unique style, seeking harmony and passion to create the best sonic experience possible.

This mix certainly reflects that. It is an odessey of beautiful styles, heady twists and turns, mouthwatering transitions and in keeping with her audience in this instance, some top class prog.  Anais displays that coveted ability to make already well received tracks sound even better in her hands, but she also brings in plenty of twists turns and originality.  

She doesn't need to develop her own style, that's a given.  Totally original but also conforms to the gold standard of a a great prog DJ when called upon, please give a warm welcome to this fantastic artist and mix.  Anais Ley.

We faced adversity in so many forms, but believe me, it was worth the wait

Orphan Burn 2020 Toronto - The Multiverse - Anais Ley

PFG are proud to release our third Mix Collection, the group's selection box of the years best tracks, picked by all of our members. In a year when our listening preferences and privileges have been changed forever, the music was thankfully forever constant, and not once did it leave us wanting for more. 

The quality of the music on display here demands we pick three of the best DJs we could lay our hands on. Fortunately we didn't have to look to far to find an array of worthy contenders. The final trio consist of Anäis Ley, an undiscovered angel we found through our Exclusive Series earlier in the year. her mix simply blew us away, and it seemed absolutely the perfect choice to get her to kick this off. Jimi Falconer is no stranger to the underground house scene, owner of Plethora Music, a source of the finest unreleased progressive music anywhere on the planet. And its these tracks which he spins for us on the Alchemy Live Streams for PFG, rapidly gaining a wider more refined audience. We end the mix with one of Progressive House's Icons. DJ,Producer,Remixer,Label Owner,Resident for some of the worlds finer clubbing brands, Chris Cargo has been there, done that and worn a t-shirt better than most. Showing no signs of stopping, PFG were truly honoured to have him mix a stunning podcast earlier in the year, and for Chris to take part in this mix is amongst the highlights of the year for us. 

So here it is, nearly 5 golden hours of tunes from 2020, a year we are never going to forget. Here's to a brighter 2021 where we can dance together again to the tunes we have here. Love from PFG.
