Dreamcatcher follows the career of the famous production designer Miljen Kljaković – Kreka and reveals all the beauty and importance of film scenography. The production designer who gave an invaluable contribution to domestic and world film creation, with his story, along with previously unpublished materials from his personal archive and conversations with the most eminent authors of the seventh art, reveals elusive moments hidden behind the film camera. Kreka: Dreamcatcher is a dreamy journey through the magnificent world of film decors of a man who turns the illusion of a film into reality.

This unusual performance, choreographed by Aleksandar Ilic and directed by Aleksandar Nikolic, does not illustratively follow the same named film, but deals with time, reappraisal of the characters closed in the hotel remises. The very situation we have experienced during days of isolation.

What would happen if time and space could go backwards? If we missed an encounter and never met our best friend, father, mistress?

The focus of the story is the fate of a ruler, who carries the destinies of people and history on his
shoulders, and is essentially subversive in nature. He is troubled by the imbalance between the
decision he should make for the greater good and what he considers to be good or necessary at a
given moment. He accepts vassalage as a higher good, but abandons the emperor because of his
own perception of goodness. Marko is a tragic hero, who tried to implement a new political
system in a world that has been built on different policies for thousands of years - in which it is

impossible to remain morally pure. It is from this imbalance that the theme of a man's inability to
remain pure in power is formed, because to be a good ruler means to be guided by the desire for
power and ambition, which puts the nation’s destiny ahead of the personal one. Marko, aware
that Turkish policy brings about total obedience, chooses to kill himself before experiencing this
humiliation of his country.
