1966 წელს ფოლკლორისტებმა, პროფესორმა გრიგოლ ჩხიკვაძემ და კახი როსებაშვილმა ძველი ქართული საეკლესიო საგალობლების ჩასაწერად გურიიდან თბილისში, კონსერვატორიის ფოლკლორის კათედრაზე მიიწვიეს სრული მგალობელი არტემ ერქომაიშვილი.

აუდიოჩაწერა ორი მაგნიტოფონის საშუალებით, ე.წ. კომბინირებული მეთოდით, მიმდინარეობდა. ერთით იწერებოდა პირველი ხმა, შემდეგ კი არტემი თავის ნაგალობევს ჯერ შუა ხმას და შემდეგ ბანს უწყობდა, რასაც მეორე მაგნიტოფონით იწერდნენ.

ასეთი გზით შემოგვრჩა 79 წლის მოხუცი მგალობლის მიერ გადმოცემული 107 საგალობლის სამივე ხმის უნიკალური ფონოჩანაწერი, რომლის გაწმენდა-რედაქტირება, ხმათა შეერთება და კომპაქტდისკის სახით გამოცემა ფონდ „ქართული გალობისა“ და თბილისის სახელმწიფო კონსერვატორიის ერთობლივი პროექტის ფარგლებში განხორციელდა.

დისკში შესულია 37 რჩეული საგალობელი.

In 1966, Georgian folklorists, Prof. Grigol Chkhikvadze and Kakhi Rosebashvili invited the accomplished chanter Artem Erkomaishvili to Tbilisi State Conservatoire for the recording session of old Georgian sacred hymns.

The recording was performed with two tape-recorders in the so-called 'combined' manner. The first-voice part was recorded on tape-recorder and Artem tuned the second and bass parts to the top voice which was recorded with the second tape-recorder.

This way the unique recordings of all three parts of about 107 chants performed by the 79-year-old Artem survived; the recordings were cleaned, processed and the voice-parts were mixed as part of the joint project of Georgian Chanting Foundation and Tbilisi State Conservatoire.

The CD includes 37 selected chants.

ამაღლდი დიდებით ქრისტე ღმერთო / Thou Art Ascended Into Glory

"When a lion does something unusual, there is always a question of whether it is a normal lion, or a spirit lion, a mhondoro. In the Shona language a biological lion is called shumba. A mhondoro is something altogether different. Mhondoro often becomes active and disturbed, when something in the relationship between the people and the land is not right. They may show their displeasure by killing those who have not behaved properly and respectfully.”

Mhondoro (Recorded at AIR Studios)

In 2020 Ana won the World Soundtrack Awards SABAM award for Best Original Composition by a Young Composer. She is the first female composer to win this award.

In the same year, Ana took 2nd place at Krakow Film Music Festival Young Talent Award. She is the first woman in the competition’s history to reach the top three.

​In 2018 Ana won the 2nd edition of the International Soundtrack Composition prize organized by Juan Gil Family Estates which has the largest prize in the world for a contest of this type. The jury was chaired by Patrick Doyle. A winning piece - “The True Treasure” was performed by the Film Symphony Orchestra at Auditorio Victor Villegas in Murcia. 

In 2017 Ana was selected to attend the ASCAP Film Scoring Workshop with Richard Bellis in Los Angeles. During this month-long program, she recorded and conducted her original 3-minute cue for Scott Derrickson's "Doctor Strange" at the historic FOX Newman Scoring Stage with a 64-piece orchestra.

In 2014 Ana was awarded the Howard Shore scholarship to study at Berklee College of Music Valencia Campus. One year after she received her Master of Music Degree in Scoring for Film, Television, and Video Games from Berklee. During the time of her studies, Ana had the opportunity to record her music at Abbey Road Studios with a 51-piece orchestra, with the Budapest Art Orchestra, with musicians in Valencia at Palau de Les Arts Reina Sofia, and at Ann Kreis Scoring stage.​

She was selected by the Berklee Faculty of Scoring for Film, Television, and Video Games as the recipient of the Outstanding Scholar Award (G'15).

In 2015 Ana won a California Independent Film Festival (CAIFF) Film Scoring Competition, named as Composer of the year, for scoring an eight-minute movie - ‘Bridgebuilders’.

Ana works out of her studios in London and Batumi (Georgia).

In addition to film scoring projects, Ana also devotes her time to songwriting as well. Recently she has been working on various orchestration projects.

Ana Kasrashvili is a member of ASCAP, as well as the World Soundtrack Academy and the Alliance for Women Film Composers.
