For this episode Leezy is joined by Berlin based DJ, producer, and sound designer, UrbnMowgli. Originally from Brussels and of Haitian decent, UrbnMowgli draws his sound from his culturally-rich background blending house, breakbeat, electro, acid, and rave. Producing music for around 8 years, he had his first release in 2018 with @somethingslow and has released music on other labels such as @welofi, @lisztomaniarec, and @routineespresso. 

He is also co-founder of Emotional Voyage Records, aiming to release emotional underground dance music in all its forms. Making its debut in 2021 with a stellar various artist compilation in January featuring Tom Vernon, Nørus, Etari, and others, and followed up with label mate, Moodrich's Tsunami Empathy EP in April.

The boss of NC4K, Stones Taro's new EP is out now. This is the first release with a 12" vinyl from his own label.

The first track, "Magma Diver", is an energetic breakbeat with sampled vocals from dancehall. A2, "Auto Translation", is a very practical house track with repetitive simple basslines and clear breakbeats. B1's title track "Seed Man" is a jungle track created by his own original style, with his unique use of vocals, great bassline ideas, and clear breakbeats. B2 is a Baltimore-style remix with rave sounds by Coco Bryce, a wicked producer in the modern jungle scene.

We are delighted to welcome Viikatory to our label with this explosive EP of Electro bangers 💥💥💥

Invoking extraterrestrial themes on “Lesson 1”, the Belarussian beatmaker sets the tone for the release – namely trippy synths and warp-speed tempos. The track is an 808-laden power-lecture which explains “ten things you might not know about space” in deadpan fashion while sharp percussion and icey pads zoom past you.

The title track features our very own jpeg.love with some raunchy, tongue-in-cheek verses about the myriad asses of the world (a topic we have a lot to say on). “Based on your Listening History” is Viikatory’s personal algorithm choosing this EP for you, without even invading your privacy!

“Assigned to Main Mix” represents the most raw and dark selection of the EP. High pitched vocals layered on sparse percussion make this a perfect tune to mix over anything, though it eventually rises to an intense crescendo, causing sensory overload before imploding like a dying star.

The final cut “From 00” finishes off the EP on a mysterious and energetic wavelength with spicy 303s and spacey electronic sounds – a fitting soundtrack to your turbulent re-entry after a spot of interstellar adventuring.

"Hot on the heels of their debut on Lobster Theremin, Sydney born and bred radio host, DJ/producer AK SPORTS readies five devastating cuts of distinct Nu-Sports club; finding their Higher Power - a new-age rave pairing formed from within a blazing ball of hell-fire.

Releases and remixes have followed on Dansu Discs, Mad Decent and CLUB GLOW (where they produced a collaborative EP with rising artist Kessler), and their Balamii radio show has welcomed guests from Dagga, Allan Fitzpatrick, Moktar, Mell G, Nova Cheq and Nikki Nair.

"Los Angeles DJ/Producer Stefan Seay returns to Low Recordings with 2 tracks and a Dub accompanied by a bumping Remix package. The first ideas were sketched in Los Angeles right as the pandemic started. Stefan moved to Berlin and found inspiration. Shortly after that the songs took their final forms while he was holding down a residency at Porzellan Bar and a studio in Marzan. “Tell Me You Feel It Too” is a moody deep house cut with vocals from a conversation he and his partner were having as the pandemic forced them to live apart for 2 years. “Tell Me It’s Real” is a cheeky acid swinger that has him recalling the fun and flirty first encounters they shared.

Truth Radio’s 23rd installment of Truth’s lo-fi release series features Canadian CULT MEMBER with Stockholm EP. With active releases under ‘Space Tapes’ and ‘&Options’, CULT MEMBER’s ‘Lazer Sky’ is a part of a 4 track EP named after the capital city of Sweden. ‘Lazer Sky features bursts of acid underpinnings layered with hazy rhythms and hollowed kick drums that sound as if the X-Men villain, Juggernaut, is trudging to the beat far off in the distance. Multi-stacked vocals echo into the void like hot breath vaporizing into frigid air with a lullaby of a melody that trances you into an ambiguous dream.

DIY V.A. only label, Ghetto Traxx, make their debut with ‘Return of the Ghetto’. Ghetto Traxx was founded by best friends who grew tired of the increasing elitism and gatekeeping they faced year after year while paying their dues in the scene. They strive for inclusivity, diversity, and bringing back the old school sound. No bullshit here, just pure bangers for a “level 99999” rave night, with real heads from all walks of life. 

If you crave raw breakbeat and heavy hitting electro, their freshman release will not disappoint. ‘Return of the Ghetto’ is pure heat from Bielefeld Murder Boys, Flood, and LUZ1E. 

The eclectic Frankfurt based DJ & producer, LUZ1E, most known for her soulful NY house sound has made a name for herself in the realms of fast paced breaks and techno. Having released on Lobster Theremin with a hard hitting electro EP  last year and her highly successful, stompy 90's house vibe UGONGETIT release in 2017, she steps up to the challenge and delivers a heavy electro banger for Ghetto Traxx.  Luz1e's 'Sonic Measurements' is a wild ride, so get ready to rave.
