It is with a great sense of privilege that Analog Africa presents this holy grail of Angolan popular urban music. Produced by FADIANG (Fabrica de Discos Angolana) this LP, known by music aficionados as “Rebita 74”, is the 1st LP to be recorded and pressed on Angolan soil. 

Released in 1973, this album is in fact a compilation of tracks by Urbano de Castro, Os Kiezos and Jovens do Prenda, the best selling artists at that particular time, who were asked to compose four songs each,  exclusively for this project. 

The result is a masterpiece - one of the best LP recorded in Angola.

Tchobari (@tchobarioficial) is the Angolan duo made up of rapper Sarissari and producer Tchoboly, who’s worked with many of Angola’s top artists, from Anselmo Raph (kizomba) to Game Walla (kuduro) to Kalibrados (hip hop). As these collaborations suggest, Tchobari blends diverse styles and sounds into what Tchoboly dubs kwatsiru.

Kwatsiru is also the name of this much anticipated debut album, two years in the making since the release of Tchobari’s singles É Male and Quem Mandou Me Nascer in 2012.

The pair playfully flirts with many Angolan genres, and feature a slew of gracious voices to support their vision: Tchobari insist on making music people can relate to, music which is both familiar and innovative. They fuse typical Angolan elements, semba guitars, kizomba grooves, afrohouse or ndombolo beats, into a distinct brew which not only sets them apart from current Angolan trends: Tchobari is redefining Angolan pop music.

Conjunto Angola 70 is an all star band put together by Samy Ben Redjeb (Analog Africa) and Manu Otiniel (from Mano Mano production - Luanda). The idea is to reproduce the amazing sound of Luanda in the 70s, a sound which has been lost since. 

The band is composed of: Tedy (Lead guitar of Conjunto Inter Palanca), Boto Trindade (Lead guitar of Os Bongos), Jorgio Morgado (Percussionist of Negoleiros do Ritmo), Tulinga (Dikanza player of Conjunto Kissangela), Dulcio Trindad (rythm Guitarist of Aguias Reais), Kalili (bass player of Aguias Reais), Chico Montenegro (vocal and bongos for Jovens do Prenda) and Mulatu (lead vocalist of Aguias Reais).
