This composition is one of five from the dance-theater work "Cage/Cunningham: Love Letters," inspired by John's love letters to Merce.

John Milton Cage Jr. was an American composer and music theorist. A pioneer of indeterminacy in music, electroacoustic music, and non-standard use of musical instruments, Cage was one of the leading figures of the post-war avant-garde.

Mercier Philip "Merce" Cunningham was an American dancer and choreographer who was at the forefront of American modern dance for more than 50 years. As a choreographer, teacher, and leader of the Merce Cunningham Dance Company, Cunningham had a profound influence on modern dance.

The Fram is a Norwegian ship completed in 1892, which was used by Norwegian polar explorers from 1893 to 1912. The Fram was designed to drift in the pack ice without suffering damage from the enormous pressure of the ice. The ship was also well insulated due to the low temperatures in the polar regions.

sitting on my sofa last night, dabbling with my iPad, finding out how to midi-sync a drum app and an arpeggiated bass. All apps were synced (using Link), and the results recorded, in Aum. Everything, including the horrible solos, was played in realtime. This is not meant to be taken seriously but more as a proof of concept :)
