“Resonance Morpheus,” the title track for my latest album, is the most harmonically and rhythmically complex piece that I have ever been a part of.   Magnus Brandell’s drumming just speaks to me.  When I play along with his drum tracks, which I discovered through “Oddgrooves,” I feel inspiration.    His polyrhythmic performances are strangely intuitive for me.   They inspire creativity out of my usual zone of comfort.   I’ve love The Pat Metheny Group since the first time I heard them live back in the ‘80s.    This piece is a nod to Mr Metheny, who that day advised me to “learn theory, and then forget it.”  Lesson learned, sensei.  May I have another?

Analog Missionary is a DreamProg band from the Southern USA. Utilizing atypical instrumentation (such as theremin, Chapman Stick, Dumbek, Artiphon and cello) and world-music influences, they have released 3 full-length albums: Transmitter, the soundtrack for the 1920's silent film classic Nosferatu (entitled Voyage of the Demeter), and ARC.

The band has developed a vast, multi-layered sound that sweeps from grandiose movements of intense power to calmer moments of emotive introspection. Their sound has been characterized as sultry, acoustically complex, sonically textured, and eclectic. The band's strength is their ability to balance the fragile with the ferocious. Anstrom's singing has been described as both hauntingly beautiful and deliciously exciting. Currently they are completing their 4th album and performing regularly in the Southern US.
