As a VIP member of Home Studio Corner, we were challenged to produce and record a cover of a well known song.  Details of the songs writer and origin are sketchy at best, but here is my take on the classic version recorded in 1964 by Eric Burdon & The Animals.

I grew up on the prairies in Canada, where the water supply for the farm was an old well at the back of the yard.  While underground lines fed all of the property, the well also had an old hand pump on top that could be used to draw water from below.  On the top of that old pump, there was a weathered enamel cup that been there as long as I can remember – decades upon decades no doubt.  I always marveled how that cup had never been lost and how much fun it was to pump a cup of that icy cold clear water from below on a hot summers’ day.  Wondering if it still hangs there today, this is my ode to that cup.

One click on a topic that you may have only been mildly curious about - and suddenly your feed is permeated with more of the same, attempting to skew it in a whole different direction.
