Analog Sweden

It started six months with our first Blade Runner tribute track, and after the great response it spawned the idea to make a whole album. We're approaching the creation of the music with a rig similar to Vangelis' original setup, of course including the Yamaha CS80, Roland VP-330 strings and Rhodes. On this track we also used the Prophet 5, Jupiter 4 and Analogue Solutions Vostok mk1. The working methods are also inspired by Vangelis, using a live and direct approach to capture the energy and feel of the original recordings where everything is played by hand. No midi is or will be used, only analog sequencers will be used.  

Together with a professional writer we're creating new small stories, called moments, that will be the themes for the music, and to please the eyes we're working with illustrators Kilian Eng and HR-FM for the creation of the album art. http://dwdesign.tumblr.com/ http://www.hr-fm.com/

We want to release cd, colored vinyl and an art booklet with illustrations for every track and documentation on the creation.

They hide in a abandoned corporate skyscraper. From the rooftop they watch the glimmering lights of the distant city as it blends with the foggy night sky. As his life fades away, his feelings for her grows stronger. She glances over the gritty dark city and suddenly realizes that she fears his death more than her own.

The time and effort that goes into creating a Moments Lost track involves disecting and analyzing the original Blade Runner songs to capture settings, harmonies, sounds, mood and feelings to come up with new ideas. 

The Blade Runner Blues consists of four distinct parts -  the VP-330 strings that form the foundation where everything rests, the Rhodes electric piano that adds organic dynamics and color to the Yamaha CS80 harmonica style lead that plays the bluesy part, and finally a bass that adds stability. Everything recorded in whole takes without punches or editing. VP330+CS80, Rhodes, and finally bass.

Moments Lost Full Album Snippets

Inspired by the park jams in NYC I wanted to contribute to my hometown with  peaceful vibes and positive dreams in the citys most negatively charged park  where there's been numerous gang related shootings. An hour of good vibes in the park just before sunset on midsummer eve. A initiative by Paul Khadra & the city of Helsingborg I truly wanted to support. Here is the recording. Enjoy! <3

Before we dive into the latest episode, let’s first take a brief look at Lofi Radio and what it offers to its listeners. The show is a music podcast that features a variety of producers, musicians, and artists from around the world. For me, and to a lot of other people he is well known for his mastery of the MPC 2000XL, and creating warm, soulful sound with incredible bounce. I am very honored to be presenting him on the show and I hope you all will enjoy this beautiful mix he’s put together for us all.
