Fresh out of the studio, Chris Miller, associate professor of international history from Tufts University joined us in a conversation to discuss his new book "Chip War". Starting from the birth of Silicon Valley and the inability of the Soviet Union to develop its semiconductor ecosystem, Chris chronicled the story of semiconductors that brought forth the rise of Asia in the past few decades and how Japan, Korea and Taiwan built their expertise within the chip supply chain along with other key players. He brought us to the present state of affairs and explored whether China can develop their semiconductor industry by decoupling from the rest of the world and risk a conflict with the United States over Taiwan. Last but not least, he offered his perspectives on the future of the semiconductor industry.

El escritor uruguayo Carlos Liscano publicó en julio pasado el libro “Cuba, de eso mejor no hablar”.

En ese trabajo, Liscano expone su desencanto con la Revolución Cubana, a la que le declaró su amor de joven, según admite. A lo largo del texto, fruto de una larga investigación y apoyado en documentos y archivo, cuestiona de manera frontal a los gobiernos cubanos de Fidel Castro en adelante, por el autoritarismo, la falta de libertades y las violaciones a los derechos humanos, pero además por lo que define como el fracaso en términos generales de todo el proyecto liderado por los hermanos Castro y el Partido Comunista.

Por otro lado, en su libro Liscano acusa a la mayoría de la izquierda y la intelectualidad latinoamericana por “aceptar acríticamente” lo que sucede en la isla.

Así lo comentaba ayer, cuando estuvo en la entrevista central de En Perspectiva.

”Yo estoy muy dolido con esto, por mi actividad. A medida que pasan los años en que la sociedad me considera una especie de intelectual, mis pares siguen sin reaccionar. Nadie dice nada. Los dirigentes del Frente Amplio siempre están esquivando pronunciarse sobre si Cuba es una dictadura o una democracia”.

El libro lleva ya tres ediciones y es el más vendido de la editorial Fin de Siglo este año, pero al mismo tiempo resulta que no tuvo casi repercusión a nivel político.

Reality Platforms and Decentralized Mapping in the Metaverse with Alex Chung

"What we did instead is we did not. The market rallied. We were just clouded in our judgment and we were not scaling the firm the way we should have. So that was probably one big one. The other one was after the liquidation I should have just had blinders on to the media and focused on creditors only and probably just had a round table and said these are what I think the options are. What do you think the options are? And if that were the case I think we probably wouldn't be in bankruptcy. We would've found one of the solutions that I just mentioned." - Kyle Davies
