For Respekt 166, we welcome Stiv Hey for his first full EP on the label. The release kicks off with 'Can't Stop'; a stone-cold dancefloor destroyer with it's seismic kickdrum, swirling vocal loops and percussive synth hook. Backing it up is 'Control', a slightly deeper take on Stiv's sound, powered by a huge offbeat bass and topped with cool, proggy chords.
As if these two monsters weren't enough, we have a double bill of debut remixers too. Brennen Grey cranks up the drones on his remix of 'Can't Stop', and Juliet Fox takes us on a trip deep into acid territory with her monster rework of 'Control'.

Following a recent killer release on Drumcode, Dutch-Chilean techno producer Ramon Tapia returns to his own imprint, Say What?, with the ‘Last Step’.

The three-tracker features two originals and a Nicolas Taboada remix — all tunes are soaked in Tapia’s trademark dancefloor-ready sound.

The title track opens the release  and sets the mood just right with its powerful kickdrums, dark synths and hypnotising percussions. Up next, ‘Plastik’ picks things where ‘Last Step’ left off to enchant us with its deep sound, rich atmospheres and angelic vocals. Last but not least, the Nicolas Taboada remix gives ‘Plastik’ a darker twist, making it the perfect peak-time dancefloor weapon.  

Ramon Tapia will release Last Step via Say What? on December 6.

Leonardo Gonnelli returns on Deeperfect with another dynamic and innovative release. He is renowned for his exceptional performances at popular events including ADE, Dockyard Festival and Terminal 4. This Florentine-raised artist has taken the music industry by storm since starting out in 2001 and has gained ongoing support from the likes of Adam Beyer, Marco Carola and Stefano Noferini. He has previous releases on some of the world’s most iconic labels including Steve Lawler’s VIVA Music, Simon Dunmore’s Defected Records, Gruuv and Play It Say It, leading him to another incredible release on Deeperfect. ‘Everybody Get Up’ is another fantastic cut, built upon a heavy bassline and cracking snares and produced smoothly with bouncing build-ups of tech tinged claps and drops. Markantonios label AnalyticTrail welcomes back Australian artist Mha Iri who has released her hard hitting techno tracks on labels such as Steve Mulder's Orange Recordings, Spartaque's Codex and The Yellowheads Reload Black Label.

Mha Iri featured a track made in collaboration with Nohak on an AnalyticTrails mixed artist release titled Expression A5 at the start of 2020, but this time she is back with three solo tracks on her own EP.

Known for her charismatic blend of high energy percussion shrouded in shadowy atmosphere, she is the master of blending hints of euphoria to enrapture with sounds both dark and light.

Burn Steadily opens the release with a sensual vocal layered with a pounding kick drum, stabbing acid and a grinding bassline. Life Is A Game has dramatic synth bursts and swelling tension unleashed with maximum impact. Mission Control has a twisted melody and pulsating rhythms that create an eerie atmosphere full of suspense.
