Another edition of the Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) is just around the corner, and this year marks its 30th anniversary. As always, Chrom Recordings is ready to celebrate in style with their annual ADE Sampler and a 2-day label showcase happening on Friday and Saturday. Our ADE Chrom Sampler features 10 carefully curated tracks, reflecting the diverse sounds of Progressive House, Indie Dance, and Melodic House & Techno. The Compilation opens with 2 recent Chrom anthems: Horizon, taken from the #100-album by our own label manager Pedro Mercado alongside Karada, followed by our latest single Missing, the iconic 90s classic from Everything But The Girl covered by Yves Eaux feat. Gregory Douglass. The remaining 8 tracks are brand-new and exclusive to this release. Half of them are contributions from trusted Chrom regulars: Fernando Lagreca, DJ Andy de Gage, Paul Sawyer and Daniel Vilchez. The other half is coming from artists who are new to our label: JP Lantieri from France, VUH from Mexico, GELIMA from Thailand and Juwlz from Belgium. We hope you enjoy this years selection! And if youll be in Amsterdam this October for ADE, wed love to see you at our Label Showcase on Friday the 24th and Saturday the 25th. Just like last years, were teaming up with our good friends from Tanzgemeinschaft, with Strange Town Recordings from Canada joining us on Friday. Across two days, well feature 16 international artists performing from 18:00 until 02:00 on both days at The Flying Dutchman (located opposite Amsterdam Central Station). Soma Records is inarguably one of Techno's major forces in 2017 and since it’s inception on the streets of Glasgow, Soma Records has stood for uncompromising quality of the highest level in every area it operates. Label figureheads Slam formed the label in 1991 together with friends Glenn Gibbons & Dave Clarke and subsequently forged one of electronic music’s most widely known and well-respected labels. Soma quickly began to develop its own sound with classics such as Slam's timeless ‘Positive Education’ and helped launch the careers of many great artists like Surgeon, Envoy, Funk D’Void, Silicone Soul and Alex Smoke as well as the discovery of French duo Daft Punk who released their first rudimentary, raw outings on the label back in 1994.

With their eyes firmly fixed on a vision of the future, Soma began the quest to instil their unquenchable passion and thirst for electronic music onto the world around them.

Box Set:
Soma have enlisted the likes of Jeff Mills, Robert Hood, Steve Bicknell, Andrew Weatherall (appearing as Woodleigh Research Facility), Blawan, Adam Beyer and more to provide brand new musical excursions for today's dance floors and beyond. These, coupled with many of today's new, up and coming names in the techno genre like Kobosil, VRIL & Jonas Kopp choosing their favourite tracks from the Soma back catalogue to remix sees Soma’s futuristic vision remaining strong with the celebration of 25 years being one of a forward thinking nature rather than one of nostalgia.

Ostgut’s Kobosil brings Slam’s ‘Visions’ into the prevailing drone-ebbed world, the veiled VRIL douses the timeless X Track by Percy X in his dubbed out demeanour and Jonas Kopp’s EBM workout of another Slam classic, ‘Stepback’ creates the standpoint for the project: “Always forward, never back”. Jeff Mills’ provides otherworldly connections with ‘A Tale From The Parallel Universe’, Weatherall delivers future/retro acid and Josh Wink unleashes a 9min epic dance floor burner. Robert Hood provides a straight up, fast paced dance floor workout; all coming together to form the collective consciousness of the Soma attitude. Slam deliver ‘Tempest’, a track that perfectly sums up the whirlwind last few years the pair have enjoyed as they continue to be at the forefront of the global Techno elite. Completing the assemblage of original tracks is Soma’s own Funk D’Void, bringing his unique brand of jacked up electronics with ‘808 Planet’.

Visual Construct:
In accompaniment, Soma decided it was necessary to match the unique musical sensibilities displayed. This led to collaboration with Scottish artist Kyle Irvine. His highly detailed, powerful yet delicate illustration style is truly unique. Each design was handpicked by Soma especially for the box set, which features exclusive Soma 25 Logo stickers, a poster and illustrated vinyl sleeves. Each individual sleeve has its own story line with enigmatic characters including Lantern Man and Little Bo, who live in a dimension beyond our own. Look out for Kyle’s designs on the Soma25 remix singles and forthcoming, limited edition clothing lines produced in conjunction with Forty Clothing Glasgow.

KD Raw, a label run and owned by Germany’s techno twin duo Kaiserdisco is now in its 3rd year. Based in Hamburg, since its inception in 2014, the label has achieved critically acclaimed albums, remixes and releases from a variety of talented producers with a focus on techno and uncut beats and vibes.

Frederic and Patrick have always been keen to support new talent and young producers they believe in. This has been the case with Carmine aka ‘The Southern’. This is his second collaboration with the guys on KD Raw, after the guys discovered him on Beatport. They played a few of his tracks in their sets which were so well received the guys got in touch with him right away.

First up we have ‘Galaxy’ – this is a beast of a builder with thundering lows and crunchy percussive power. It has a simple yet mesmerizing synth hook which draws you into its mechanical style groove.

Lost in Space continues with a rigid percussive flare, this track drives in a mind dismantling four to the floor manner. Industrial swing, and a late night track to hit the dancefloor in the darkest of hours.

We proudly present our annual white isle tribute. 'Koen Groeneveld Presents Abzolut Ibiza 2018' is a 5 track EP, showcasing our label's trademark sound. Newcomer Bobby Cowley drops a bouncy piece of Disco influenced Techno and another shooting star, Germany's very own Lothar Von Striem, brings us the big room melodic tuneage that is 'Condensation'. Roberto Technalli continues his old school early 90's rave influenced string of releases via 'Supercell'. This all, alongside the usual contributions by label chief Koen Groeneveld, who delivered, collaborating with Roberto Technalli, a peaktime percussion loaded banger by the name of 'Cactus 127', plus Koen's very own fresh Re-Edit of his 2016 million streamer 'Feellit'.

Markantonio’s label AnalyticTrail welcomes an imprint debut from BEC who after making a name for herself on Pan-Pot’s Second State has also releases on Carl Cox’s Intec amongst others of a high calibre.

BEC is one of techno’s leading ladies quickly rising through the ranks of the genre, and with this EP she becomes a part of AnalyticTrail’s roster of artists which already includes the likes of Joseph Capriati, Flug, Matt Sassari and Luigi Madonna.

Originally from the UK but currently based in Berlin, she is also a popular DJ still relatively early in her career and has already played in many parts of the world as far flung as Australia.

Each of the four tracks brings something different to the EP with the title cut having morphing acid and a captivating vocal sample that gives it its title. Still dark and pounding “Eclipse” is a trippy take on a similar set of sounds with the addition of a grinding bassline, and “One Chance” closes things with its melodic synth stabs layered with industrial percussion.
