'Modern Romance EP' out 4.8.16 on Unspeakable Records

Dot (Kate Ellwanger) is a producer, vocalist, and multi-instrumentalist known for her unique take on indie electronic and sixties-inspired dream beats. Currently based in Los Angeles, she is the founder and CEO of Unspeakable Records (a label of all-female producers and musicians), as well as a member of LA beat collective Team Supreme. Her music has been praised by the best in tastemaker media, including features in Pitchfork, LA Weekly, Okayfuture, MTV Brazil, Nest HQ, Rookie, Run The Trap, LA Record, The 405, and more.

Dot debuted her first live set at Low End Theory, the infamous hip-hop/electronic night at The Airliner in Los Angeles. She continues to tour regularly as a live performer, gracing the stages of world-famous venues including The Echoplex (Los Angeles), The Observatory OC, Output (New York), and Home Club (Singapore). When she's not traveling, Dot holds down DJ residencies at Ace Hotel Downtown LA and The Short Stop.

In addition to her solo work, Dot produces for artists including SZA (TDE) and Teri GenderBender (Le Butcherettes, Bosnian Rainbows), and original music for film and television (MTV and OWN). Her extensive knowledge of music production and creative strategies also led to her participation as a panelist at Loop Berlin: Ableton’s summit for music makers.
