Sometimes imperfection is perfection. Distressed chrysalis exist with this concept. They have earthy textures, holes, cracks and blurry shades. The result is a chrysalis that looks older than it actually is, and sometimes just worn out. No two unhappy chrysalis are ever the same. Each of them is uniquely beautiful.
Decay is a necessary and decisive process for the health of the human psyche.
Let what you once feared run through you. Take a new form; benefit from your primitive instinct. Fuck off what you think is unnecessary for your rebirth.
"Unnecessary" is the title of the second release on A Flooded Need. Previously tangled in the most slippery meanders of electronic music with strong punk and wave reminiscences, 1/2 of Hyperlacrimae alongside 11xxx27, Nocturnerror approaches this work in a totally different way. The six tracks of the EP, in fact, represent a melting pot of hybrid influences between audacious bass music, cinematic and cacophonic IDM, totally deconstructed techno - stripped of its dance component - and dirty rave jungle.

PREMIERE #815 | Nocturnerror - Distressing Chrysalis [A Flooded Need] 2020

There was an orange haze which hung thick over the mountain region. The shadows of the hillside were dense and black as the sun went down over the 1-5 South. Cars began to activate their headlights, blinking flashes scattered up and down the freeway as they raced along the coastal route. The air was humid and the car was hot and stuffy on the inside. He turned up the radio and rolled down the window as he pushed hard on the pedal and whizzed off at a wicked pace. This was the outback region and each engine was out for itself. 

D.Dan is set to release a fast and furious EP on Lobster Theremin, the London based record label run by Jimmy Asquith. The imprint has often acted as an outlet for the rougher more rugged fringes of dance music and this is no different. A techno, rave extravaganza with punch and promise.

Irrational Dramas is androgynous thinking, mutant paranoia, instinct dominated by thought. It is bloody past, wild grace, certain consequences of an action never committed. A compilation of 11 artists, each of whom tried to explore the psychological and therapeutic role of the tragedy. The reference music scene is that of electronics with the most futuristic sound, rather than the most disturbing ambient, or the most ruthless and cathartic bass music. In fact, catharsis is the central theme on which this V.A. is focused, understood both from a physical point of view - and fifths of catharsis full of dynamism, body, movement - and from an emotional point of view (like the liberating detachment from passions through strong events, taking up the Aristotelian concept).
From purification we can regenerate ourselves, our perennial dissatisfaction is our engine of action.

Thissperso is an Argentinian producer from Buenos Aires, currently based in Barcelona. Since the beginning, he is part of the 63 crew.His music has gone from ebm to club music, always expressing kind of anxiety. He calls it visceral vomit.
Since the first track might very well express the album tone, between sadness, anger and anxiety. From ebm to kinda club music, the album might bring you somewhere where hope has no place to be. Where death is inevitable and witnessing is the only thing to do.

Sheffield production // DJ trio ​Denham Audio​, make their ​Lobster Theremin​ debut with an incredible 5 tracker of breaks and bass, backed with a club fuelled remix from Lobster family regular ​Maruwa​.
EP opener ‘Feel The Panic’ sets the pace, crunchy drums with scorching acid basslines and old rave esque vocal hooks, merging into a dancefloor driven weapon.
‘Volt’ injects a punch, chopped up drum sequences with floating vocals and pulsating synth lines, one for the early hours of the dance.
On the flip side Denham Audio leads with a drum driven roller ‘Bobby Wobbler’, breaks and beats soar and transform into a weighty number.
‘Check 1’ blends classic rave esque sound pallets with punchy kick drums and clean, crisp synth lines.
Maruwa’s remix of ‘Check 1’ showcases her incredible ability to create productions destined to do the business in the clubs, hands in the air pads play gracefully with the drum elements from the original production. This one is for the ravers.

After a one-year hiatus, Setaoc Mass returns to his own SK11 imprint with fresh double EP pack ‘’Neo-Noir’’.  Drawing on influences from past and present, the productions explore the full spectrum between functional and experimental, moving between the perpetual drive, bleep-laden opener ‘Inferno’ to headier, rolling cuts ‘Technique’ and ’Neo-Noir’, whilst ‘Moon lit Eyes’ taps into more abstracted, IDM related elements with the wilting melodies and refracted drum patterns recalling classic Manchester electronica of Autechre or Bola.  The second disc reverts back to re-fix its floor-focus, opening with the boundless, atmospheric shuffle of ‘Don’t Come Find Me’, followed by the more warped ‘The Trip Commander’ and tense minimalism of ‘Driving In Circles’, whilst ‘Moon Groove’ flaunts a dreamier expanse set within a crisp electro framework.
