When I Cry

Ananda was formed from two friends who shared a profound passion for music. The band was formed in early 2010 when Jake and Polly began to play music together at school.

The music we play is inspired by artists such as the libertines to Alter bridge and the soulful stylings of famous British music past and present. Ananda aim to write songs with a passionate lyrics built off of life experience. We aim to do something different from every other band out there which gives us a very original and individual style of playing and writing. 

Our live sets includes up tempo numbers which we balance out with more slower ballads to create continuity throughout the set. All of the band have been inspired by acoustic music such as folk and early blues so acoustic music is something we feel needs to be more prevalent in todays music. We like to do this by splitting our set into acoustic and electric to give a more eclectic feel to our music.
