Inspired by 'Wonder' - the theme of the 2019 Walthamstow Art Trail, this track was written while I was emerging from a period of depression after the death of my funny, brave and brilliant brother, Tim Rendle.  
Tim was diagnosed with bile duct Cancer at the end of April 2018 and died on 23 June the same year.  He's got his own stuff on Soundcloud and those who knew him will know there are no superlatives too super to describe his warmth and his love of life.
The track begins with an abridged quote from Ada Lovelace 'the world's first computer programmer' and daughter of 19th century poet, Lord Byron.
Music arrangement and production by Paul Dogra.

Poen- Pain in Welsh. A tone poem on the subject of pain, specifically trying to fall asleep with chronic pain while recovering from a major lung surgery in 2019. 
Starting with an improvisation and ending with an excerpt from Messiaen's "O sacrum convivium" for choir (arranged for cellos). 
All parts played by me on the cello.

The ancient Sanskrit prayer at the heart of this piece has been an ally and balm for my spirit for many years.

This version emerged in personal retreat & ceremony.
I offer it out for the good of all and the harm of none.

I give infinite and sincere thanks to those who have carried these frequencies of healing and peace through the ages; to all the keepers of the perennial wisdom of Love and Compassion.
