Fashion was a weapon of the mind.  From the French ‘beau monde’ meaning ‘Fashionable Society’. The fashionable wealthy inherited the century-long modification of the word into ‘Boo Monde’ from the people planet-side who looked upon them as wandering ghosts from an earlier, more prosperous time. Their fashion seemed foreign to the planet-dwellers, although they were still humans underneath. They weren’t aliens but rather phantoms. The style of the wealthy citizens was often angular, bright and, unlike their human counterparts on land, was overly ambitious when it came to showing skin. The military and political elite wore dark, smooth, and conservative clothing that harkened back to earlier planetary tyrannical regimes. Often those in power would pay for surgery to turn their eyes red to instill fear among those below them. Warfare against and among the people began first in the mind. Keeping the people on the brink of starvation was the only way to control the masses. Fashion played a heavy hand in the war.

Papaya Lipgloss is as sweet as it sounds; a song about young love and romance delivered to you in two delectable mixes - one for the clubs and this one, very much for the headphones. A beautiful planet that once sat like an oasis of color in the ultimate blackness of space is now fading away with it’s dying sun. After all the planets fossil fuels were exhausted, scientists found a way to utilize the planets water sources for energy. Within a few centuries all the oceans were drained, leaving the world dried up and out of balance.

In place of the oceans lie gigantic multiplex cities also known as Ridge Cities. The different Ridge Cities were connected to one each other via magnetic highways. When the oceans were first harnessed for fuel, the rich and elite who owned the land were able to power their spacecraft to distant more resource rich planets by selling the land and buying fuel to get to the closest star outside of the milky way.

Those left behind became landowners and small time con-men living lavishly for a few lifetimes. Controlling the water and the land that produced the water meant controlling the fuels supply and with it, the ONLY way OFF the Earth. It wasn’t before long that the businessman turned ruthless gangsters controlling all of the black-markets on the planet.

Because of over-crowding on the new planets, socio-engineers determined in order to maximize the life giving resources they would have to only take the best of the best from Earth, and encapsulate those still left on earth. Escape was outlawed. The Earth was surrounded and fortified by scanning drones and battleships. Escaped seemed fairly impossible. The only way off the planet for the non-elite was through the black market.

Chemicals consumed most of those left on Earth. Their diet, their brains, the way they interact with the world. A merging of technology, science and alchemy. There had been tales of a chosen one who had been prophesied to deliver the people from tyranny. The chosen one is a creature of the nightlife, and the under- belly of society; yet he will seem more pure and innocent than the rest he’s surrounded by.
Soon the chosen one will reveal to the people that the way off planet isn’t outward, but inward. It is prophesied that the center of the planet holds a metaphysical worm hole that will transport the remaining inhabitants to a land free from of tyranny on the other side of the known universe. A way out. A Utopian Star.
