V/A Vellozia Squamata contains tracks of our initial wave of signed artists specially curated by one of Resina’s front men, CyK.

Vellozia Squamata is the scientific name of a native tree of Cerrado’s flora. It’s mainly concentrated on the center of Brazil and it’s in danger of extinction in some regions. In some communities it is known that if someplace contains lots of vellozias, it means the place is usually untouched by mankind, serving as a mark of pure unnafected nature. This species is specially tough and resistant, surviving massive fires, droughts and many other harsh conditions presented by the cerrado biome.

In its environment “canela de ema”, as it’s tenderly called in view of how it looks, only grows 2-4 centimeters a year becoming centenary trees in such short heights. To us, our crew resembles the Vellozia Squamata as we are gathering the work of many years in this upcoming release, something that might feel small at first, but in fact this V/A reflects our lifetime paths in the music scene.

Greetings whirlers! We are delighted to announce the upcoming release of Samaa Records by our very own "Hypnoia".
 
This digital EP contains three trippy groovy tracks filled with ethnic elements and atmospheres; creating a sound saga ideal for a hyper-active crowd on raging dance floors; while at the same time manifesting Hypnoia's frequencies which drives from their lineage. Two solo tracks, and a collaboration with the latest addition to the artist roster of Samaa Records, "Creepy Deep". Leo Khan aka Anarkick is the product of a social experiment.
growing up in Goa from the mid-80s and through the 90s
Leo was able to see the beginning and the evolution of the music scene there. personally experiencing the passage from the first forms of electronic music into what we now call goatrance, Psytrance, Progressive, Psygressive etc. sounds he took in immediate interest, starting to collect music and playing. in '96 he began a collaboration with Jonas aka Psykick and together they played in most of the major events in Goa seasons 96-98.
couple years passed as a DJ and Leo felt the need to start composing his own tunes.
So it was involved in the construction of what is now called the "Discovalley records studo” in Chapora.
the experience opened a new world and a new way for him to enjoy the music, a passion that has kept through the years until today, where is active as ever. you can find its traces on most digital platforms, with many pseudonyms, involved in numerous projects and in a variety of musical styles.
