The Stone Forest of Meteora.
"The Stone Forest of Meteora" is a book written by the Nun Theotekni of the Monastery of Agios Stefanos of Meteora. After reading it I began to visit Meteora regularly not only for religious reasons, but also for nature loving ones. The cavernous small monasteries with their mysterious existence but also the appearance of an eerie prison hidden in nature, remain there abandoned and unchanged for centuries, waiting for you to release them from their deep hypnosis. The sacred rocks, the village of Kastraki, the shepherds, the walkers and the climbers, assemble my feelings and memories of the place and its people. Combining field recordings, Greek Orthodox psalm recordings and acousmatic sound textures of my own creation, I am interested in creating dramaturgical structure with the main concern of moving from a cloudy soundscape to a new environment of cerebral interaction and auditory meditation, guiding both myself and the listener on a path of experiences towards catharsis.

Το Πέτρινο Δάσος Των Μετεώρων

This is a free improvisational composition with double bass, Istanbul lute (lavta), lyre and textures of granular composition in an artistic attempt to reflect the restless thoughts of deep existential concerns, yearning for an inner katharsis maybe, that never comes. A dialogue between grains and three musical instruments that dramatize the bright, dark, anxious and sometimes paranoid thoughts that struggle to clarify vague reflections that mutate over time.

This is a cinematic composition with electroacoustic elements, mainly of granular synthesis, with free improvisational playing on piano and double bass, and excerpts with a female voice from ‘Genesis’ by Tasos Livaditis. It is an attempt to create a soundscape based on the present poem.

Αυτή είναι μια κινηματογραφική σύνθεση με ηλεκτροακουστικά στοιχεία, κυρίως κοκκώδους σύνθεσης, με ελεύθερο αυτοσχεδιαστικό παίξιμο σε πιάνο και κοντραμπάσο, και αποσπάσματα με γυναικεία φωνή από τη ‘Γένεση’ του Τάσου Λειβαδίτη. Είναι μια απόπειρα δημιουργίας ηχοτοπίου βασισμένου στο παρών ποίημα.
