It's a chilly, misty Friday in Amsterdam where we welcome Zorz to the GF series. The Athens-born, Berlin-based selector is one of those key figures in the scene with great energy and taste in music.  He is the co-founder of Untag records together with Kondaktor and a resident of a few crews. These include Prima Materia in Madrid, and the lauded Pi Electronics, a collective and record label hailing from Athens. They release music by artists like 3.14, co-founder of the label, JK Flesh, and others. When not performing at the annual Intergalactic FM Festival on the Dutch West Coast, he is doing the rounds at venues like About Blank, Temple in Athens, La Matriz, and many others. Marsha Stern, the gift that keeps on giving <3 another generous offering from her sacred Roy Thode vault of recordings from a very golden age of dance floor culture. It’s a tremendous honour to be able to house this recording on our Soundcloud page, an untouched time capsule from almost half a century ago, allowing us the luxury of re-living that moment in that room with Roy Thode holding court behind the booth, providing the soundtrack to what would have been a wonderful night in a very special place. 1980, no smart phones, no discogs, no social media, CDJS or sync/loop buttons, the profession of DJing was still in its early beginnings of being defined and Roy’s dedication to the craft certainly helped define it. 
In a time where it’s not always so easy to feel proud of being “a DJ”, it’s inspiring to look back at the origins of dance floor culture, one of them being extremely dedicated, self-educated and oppressed homosexuals in New York who took it upon themselves to explore the aesthetics of music on the dance floor to extreme levels. This recording should give you a glimpse into what that might have sounded like. Please take a moment to listen carefully and allow yourself to understand the genius of Roy Thode’s craft as a DJ. We hope it inspires you as much as it inspired us. On this day, Roy would have become 76 years of age, long live his memory, thank you for the music and inspiring dedication to the craft. Happy Birthday Roy!

this mix is a tribute to overdub- a greek fanzine from the late 90’s  and early 00’s. 
Just before Internet was fully commercialised, the creatures of the underground scene could find it in specific comic, record and book stores and dig into the local and international experimentations of the time.  

All tracks come from artists that are briefly or more thoroughly mentioned on different issues of overdub. Christos Karras,  the music aficionado and editor in chief of the fanzine, initially had to send via post, introduction letters  to artists he admired, and receive tracks on cd or tape, months later, for a music compilation that he curated for every issue. Later on, email took over, Napster took over, and gradually overdub lost its precious meaning…Hopefully for some more than a few, independent music still matters. Special thanks to Aggelos Baltas for revealing to me this hidden gem.

Pride Or Die is Dalmata Daniel's new fundraiser compilation released in solidarity with Budapest Pride.

In March 2025 the Hungarian Parliament rewrote the country’s assembly law, tightening the rules for all public demonstrations — but with wording clearly aimed at shutting down Pride. The amendment threatens marchers and organisers with fines of up to €500 and lets police deploy facial‑recognition systems. It follows a 2020 ban on legal gender recognition and the 2021 law censoring LGBTQ+ content for minors.

Meanwhile, the government continues to target civil organisations more broadly, signalling an even darker outlook for the future of democratic rights and community spaces in Hungary.

To answer this attack on basic civil and queer rights, Dalmata Daniel teamed up with 34 artists from Hungary and across the globe to contribute exclusive tracks. The result is a diverse, powerful collection that channels solidarity, resistance, and care through sound.

All proceeds will be donated to the Budapest Pride Foundation.
