Italian based project Vito Lalinga (Vi Mode Inc. Project) is back with his new album 'Guru in the Jungle'. In this new release the artist exposes nine brand new and freshly produced tracks under the fundamentals of afro and funk. 

The album has an elegant vibe through all nine tunes, from warm and organic tones, to fusion style and grooves with fat beats and an overall jazz and latin vibe. What is not missing, but mostly dominates here, is the modern deep funk style cooked up well with African and Latin root genres. 

'Guru in the Jungle' gives a pleasant way to listen, feel, breathe and get a groove on with deep and energising songs constructed under a modern mid tempo dance floor concept.

Singer and producer Brazen Rule comes from the city Lira in northern Uganda. He won the Pearl of Africa Music Awards for Northern Artist of the Year, was given 4 times the title as best producer at the Lango Entertainment Awards and was also chosen best northern Reggae artist of the year. He made himself a name as one of the most humble artists in the north because his lyrics are centered about the everyday people that hustle from day to day to earn a living, the market women, the single mothers or the orphans that were raised after the war in the north. 

Ancient Astronauts connected with Brazen Rule in 2017 when DOGU was part of the Rhythm Is Life Tour 2017 in northern Uganda and Brazen was one of the attendees of the workshop in Lira. For the final compilation of this tour he recorded the lyrics for “Bad Muje” to an older beat by Ancient Astronauts and Poldoore. And that version of “Bad Muje” became a big hit in northern Uganda and now people call Brazen Rule “Bad Muje” since that day. It is a saying for an older respected person, one with experience and skills.

But that original version of “Bad Muje” was never officially released. It only came out on the free download compilation of the Rhythm Is Life Tour 2017 that is available on Bandcamp. So for the upcoming label compilation “20 years Fantastic Freeriding” Kabanjak and DOGU of Ancient Astronauts decided to produce a new riddim for the song and give it a proper official release. And here it is!

Production duo ANCIENT ASTRONAUTS have announced the release of their latest single, ‘Tebamanyi feat. MoRoots’ on the 6th of November. The single is taken from their groundbreaking Afro-European album ZIK ZAK, which will be released on the 22nd of January 2021 via Switchstance Recordings and features a variety of rising African musicians. The album was preceded by the noteworthy Kampala Fire EP and the single Ziinga Zanram. 

Ugandan born and London based MoRoots is a fast-rising singer, songwriter, composer, saxophonist, classical pianist who is currently making waves across both continents. The songstress has been supported by several publications including Bella Naija, New Vision, The New Times, Chimp Reports, The Observer and Sofar Sounds.

ANCIENT ASTRONAUTS find inspiration in a variety of styles, including the likes of Madlib, Apollo Brown, Clutchy Hopkins, RJD2, King Tubby, Lee Perry, Dubmatix, Stone Love, J Dilla, Augustus Pablo, Midnite, DJ Premiere, Pete Rock and 9th Wonder. However, ‘Tebamanyi feat. MoRoots’ sits closer to the likes of the production stylings of Thievery Corporation, Kruder & Dorfmeister, the haunting string work of Portishead and Quakers (Katalyst) the while the vocals call to mind the powerful likes of Amy Winehouse and Mary J. The Ancient Astronauts are Kabanjak and Dogu, a bulletproof production and DJ duo hailing from Cologne, Germany. The phenomenon of “ancient astronauts, “a belief that extraterrestrial beings visited Earth in ancient times to mingle and trade ideas with early human civilizations”, isn’t an alien concept to these Ancient Astronauts.  The cross-pollination and mash-up of ideas, sounds, styles, and a collaborative spirit are their modus operandi.
