Umwelt is a truly rare underground electronic artist in the world of Techno and is without doubt one of the most important and prolific French electronic producers of a generation. A techno activist since the 90’s boasting over 50 releases to date. Throughout his career he has crafted a pure analog, unmistakable, signature sound, mixing dark, cinematic melancholy with the electro-techno grit he is so renowned for.

The sound of the album is influenced by late 90’s and early 00’s techno contrasted with an avant-garde approach to recording and sound design. Throughout the album Umwelt lays down beautiful grooves and his space techno melodies in uncompromising fashion, blended with classic synthwork and run through his famous analog outboard chains. With “Dead Eyes Society” Umwelt has crafted his most powerful techno album to date and solidified himself as an exceptional artist
and titanic figure of modern electronic music.

In a much-anticipated return to the imprint's catalogue, label head @tommyfourseven unveils his first solo release in four years: 47039. Lauded as a pioneer of "uncompromising vision" by Resident Advisor, the producer has further honed his tight, technical and highly nuanced palette in a collection that alchemizes rolling techno and plaintive broken beat. 

Opener "SWORN" is the toughest and most tactile track on the EP, sculpted with searing synth lines that snake through dense percussive thickets. On "IXIAN", Tommy gives a hazy nod to his roots in drum n' bass with a half time groove that splinters with meteoric sweeps and mangled vocals—a readout from beyond. The B-side is still stamped with Tommy's impeccable attention to sound design, yet it turns downwards, mining cavernous and soul-penetrating depths. "CYCLES", an aqueous four-to-the-floor cut that burbles with effervescent chord stabs, offers softer shades that spill into spectral ambient closer "AERIAL". It's a lighter side we rarely hear from the British talent, displaying his tenacity as a far-reaching, constantly evolving artist with a knack for bringing listeners into 47's far-reaching otherworldly fold.

This album represents a significant evolution in the musical journey of Nick Viola, transitioning from the powernoise and heavy industrial sounds of his previous project, Fractured Transmission, into a techno-framed landscape. Spanning seven tracks, including remixes, the album features recurring sounds sourced from machinery, field recordings, and personal travels. These elements create an uneasy atmosphere oscillating between slight discomfort and absolute dread, offering a dystopian sonic experience fitting for the times we unfortunately live in. 

The opening track, 'A Ghost in Your World,' sets an intense tone with distorted atmospheres and 'It's Still Real' follows with a relentless pulse and swirling mechanical sounds, seamlessly flowing into Kenny Campbell's remix of 'A Ghost In Your World', providing a cathartic release for the A side.

'Drop Out,' guides listeners on a psychedelic journey into the B side of the record, while 'Negative Nancy' ramps up the energy with an aggressive industrial techno assault offering an antagonistic jab at the current trend within the genre. Substencia's remix of “Drop Out” delves deeper into psychedelia, offering an immersive trance-like experience relieving the tension of “Negative Nancy”.

About Artist:
Nick Viola is a versatile electronic music producer known for his distinctive blend of industrial and techno music, drawing inspiration from a wide range of influences spanning from the gritty sounds of powernoise to the pulsating energy of techno.

Born and raised in Los Angeles,  Nick began his musical journey immersed in the industrial club scene, where he cut his teeth performing at the legendary Los Angeles industrial club Das Bunker. Here, he honed his craft and developed a deep appreciation for the raw, aggressive textures of industrial music. As the driving force behind the project Fractured Transmission, he made a name for himself with his uncompromising approach to power and rhythmic noise, earning recognition for his intense live performances and relentless sonic assaults.

However, Nick was always drawn to the rhythms and sounds of techno, and in a bold move, he embarked on a new chapter in his musical career, transitioning from the abrasive sounds and rhythms of powernoise to recontextualizing those sounds into a more techno landscape. With this album, “A Ghost In your World”, he showcases his evolution as an artist, seamlessly blending the industrial aesthetics of his past with the pulsating energy and frame of techno.

Jeff Mills’ “The Bells” is one of the most iconic tracks in techno history, often called the genre’s anthem. Known for its hypnotic bell melody, driving kick, and euphoric build, it became a staple in DJ sets worldwide. The track was first played live by Mills in 1995 (e.g., at Liquid Room in Tokyo), but it wasn’t officially released until 1997 as part of the Kat Moda EP on his Purpose Maker label. This EP is the original record pressing you’re asking about—no standalone “The Bells” single exists from that era. It has since been repressed multiple times due to massive demand (over 500,000 copies sold across versions).

"The Techno Wave" was the first single released in 1990 by this famous project created by Jens Lissat and Ramon Zenker (Hardfloor). One of the most well-known tracks of the so called Frankfurt Tekkno scene that invaded Germany during the early 90s. This re-issue includes the original “Castle Mix", the b-side “The Bass is on Fire” and a new killer remix prepared by Ancient Methods who described “The Techno Wave" as "one of the influential tracks that brought me alongside Zoth Ommog and R&S into techno".

Drawing Inspiration from London's Underground dance scene, Descendants of Sinners is a result of an ongoing, passionate desire from Dax fusing modern day Techno with the sound of classic UK rave culture. 2015 has been a big year for Dax. He's seen successful debut appearances at Berghain and Glastonbury as well as his very well received EarToGround residency with Jaded at Corsica Studios and soon his long awaited debut appearance at fabric.
