Ancient Channels is a sonic expedition through the imagined past, present and future.

This new musical project from Brisbane has been materialised by Kelly Hanlon (Terra Pines/DEAFCULT) playing multiple instruments and supported by Chris Preindl  (Leavings, Vestiges, & Apparitions) on the drums which form the heartbeat of all the songs.  Influenced by  The Creatures, Warpaint, Beach House and more broadly retro-psych fi sound-tracks, post-punk and dreampop. 

The debut single Footprints In The Dark is an auditory patchwork that explores the interconnectedness of time and space. It weaves together hypnotic, heavy beats interspersed by guitar and synth melodies that are transcendental and provoke a sense of timelessness and wonder.

The dreamy and meandering vocals explore questions about the uncertainty of our future adding layers of melancholy and grief.

Ancient Channels draw from a myriad of influences including post-punk, dream pop, shoegaze and the sci-fi soundtracks of early film and television.
