'Magnolia' is the title-track from Wilsen's brand new four-track EP, which is released on the 19th May 2014. 

The release of the 'Magnolia EP' coincides with Wilsen's debut shows in the UK. Full list of dates are as follows.

Wilsen - "Magnolia"

I wrote this song for a cabaret style show called 'Home Sweet Home'.  The theme was what home meant to us. I performed for it at the Shadbolt Centre for the Arts last June. It was a three night performance and I was accompanied by Jesse Waldman and Meghan Engel. 
I decided towards the end of the recording project to do a recording of this one, and add it to the CD. Its all about moving, and transition and coming home.

Boxes

I drove to Newfoundland and back from Vancouver, BC. I wrote songs for every province I traveled through, with the intention of making an album that way. This was the first song that I completed. I remember standing on the edge of Lake Ontario, amazed.
I have also woven the melody of 'Land of the Silver Birch' ( A song that is native to Ontario) throughout this song. It was the idea of Stephanie Miletic, who plays the viola on this song. The melody fit perfectly into lake Ontario, no changes needed. That is when we knew it was meant to be

Lake Ontario

This song featured Jesse Waldman on piano. I had written it on guitar, but once Jesse started exploring with making it a piano song, it seemed to make sense and felt right.
I feel like this is a song that is easy to relate too, human emotions and how we all need to find the way that works for us to move through life.
