This is the first jungle tune I composed... an ode to my high school days of absolutely loving ragga jungle... so here it is, originally put together in 2008, right before I went to graduate journalism school (now I'm finally putting it out there... not quite with as many bells/whistles/FX as I would like, but I realized it's already sat on my hard drive for almost 4 years).
It remixes of one of my favorite Jah Mason songs. All the sounds are original, except for the Jah Mason acapella. By replaying some of the parts of the original song, I am interpolating those parts for this remix. The break is a chopped up Amen Brother break.

Little fun dance tune I built quickly after I returned from Brazil... so it's seeped in Brazilian rhythms. I'd like to do more to this for sure.

POP SMOKE CARNAVAL (Kieran Meadows Baile Funk Bootleg Edit)

Brooklyn native. Trained as a professional journalist, but I'm also a self-taught musician &amp; DJ (I DJ'd mostly in HS and college, then stopped... got tired of carrying all the vinyl I guess...). My passion for music is currently pushing me to resurface as a music dude through and through, both as a professional drummer and DJ, as well as producer/composer. I am open to, influenced by, and to be totally honest, love ALL types &amp; genres of music, from independent &amp; underground sounds to pop. However, I'm heavily influenced by hip hop (particularly the boom bap golden era I grew up in), reggae and dancehall, dub/electro/jungle/house, and Brazilian music like samba and bossa nova. I consider myself a sort of drum-machine emulating breakbeat drummer, kinda a la my biggest drummer influence ?uestlove. My all live instrument hip-hop band, fronted by a male & female rap duo + female vocalist, recently released our demo EP, "Tortoise Style," available at: illegalize.bandcamp.com. 
And I definitely got a special place in my heart for reggae for sure. Pretty much, if it's got soul and funk and rhythm and a dope melody and comes from a genuine place, I'm down to rock.
