For this last edition •NTS radio• of 2021, we are diving in into the energies of a mutable fire sign ruled by Jupiter, Sagittarius. 
Over the weekend we reached the end point of an eclipse cycle, a significant moment. 
we arrived at our new destination. 

Let’s take a trip down memory lane, all the way back to May 2020. 
What growth have you achieved since this time? 

Since May 2020, we have been working our way through the Sagittarius-Gemini Eclipse cycle, but this cycle has now come to an end and wrapped up over the weekend, with a final New Moon Total Solar Eclipse.

It is a point in our lives where some thing or some part of us is fully reborn and fully integrated, and ready to play an active part in our lives.

Eclipses represent portals into new states of consciousness. They tend to bring events that shift and transform our lives, allowing us to step into a new chapter of our soul’s evolution.

This New Moon total eclipse in Sagittarius and is like the last step on this journey we have been traveling. It opens the final door on this path and can bring the rewards of our hard work.

Looking deeper into the cosmic skies, neptune is very active at the moment.
Neptune is the planet of spirituality and intuition, and there is a strong call for us to dial in and listen to what our inner voice is saying.

Closing this reading with a quote from Zig Ziglar:
"Don't let the mistakes and disappointments of the past control and direct your future"

As we arrive at our new destination, it’s important to make time to be thankful for the journey and to honor the lessons and growth we have achieved.
A new clarity is emerging, and with that new clarity, it feels like we are opening to a new chapter.

Le Motel - Sueños is out now on Maloca

Belgian artist and Maloca Records founder Le Motel returns to the label for a new EP, ‘Sueños’, his most expansive work to date. Released on the 25th February, Le Motel draws from the worldly ethos of the label to bring together collaborators from the UK, Ghana, Spain and Brussels. 

Meaning dream in Spanish, ‘Sueños’ was made during the lockdown and is inspired by the fragments for dreams and the incapacity of experiencing music and life in a physical way. On Le Motel’s two solo cuts, ‘Sueños’ and ‘Talking To Drums’, the dynamic artist showcases his signature percussive driven sound. With the global influences from the collaborators, ‘Sueños’ continues to expand across heavyweight grime on ‘Love Talk Bad’ with Logan, glitchy IDM with Cabasa on ‘Libet’s Delay’, Clara! bringing reggaeton flavours to ‘Rápido’ and Bryte provides his distinctive vocals to the heavy bass rhythms of ‘Wonteeda’. 

As a music producer and film composer, Le Motel’s versatility has taken him to festivals and clubs in every direction and as a field recordist, he has ventured out to the less accessible areas of the globe to source sounds for his enriching productions. Having produced for some of Belgium’s biggest hip hop artists, Le Motel has also released on Portugal’s XXIII, LA’s TAR and New Zealand’s Cosmic Compositions. 

Launching Maloca Records in 2020, Le Motel aims to bring together a global network of makers which was highlighted on the label’s first compilation, Maloca Vol. 1. The release focused on a terrestrial and borderless percussive sound that has been bubbling in clubs and Le Motel’s orbit, featuring tracks from Nick León, OMAAR, DJ JM, Dengue Dengue Dengue, Coen, DJ N.K. and Tsongo. Maloca has also released solo EPs from Howie Lee, Farsight and more recently Griffit Vigo.

Skee Mask is one of dance music's greatest crossover stories of the past decade, with new albums greeted with the attention usually reserved for an Aphex Twin or a Caribou. ("Loved seeing this on r/indieheads," said one Reddit user, on the release of the 2021 LP Pool.) It's not hard to understand why: albums like Compro, he blends well-worn dance music tropes with incredible, detailed soundscapes and spine-tingling melodies. And on his 12-inches, he brings that sensibility to the dance floor, with an approach probably best described as articulate. Even on his most ambient of tracks, everything is in its right place. Along with founders the Zenker Brothers, his music outlines everything that makes Munich outfit Ilian Tape one of the best techno labels going.

On the decks, it's kind of a different story. It might surprise you if you only know his albums, but Skee Mask is an incredible DJ, balancing his predilection for hip-hop and UK-informed sounds with laser-focused techno. He can adapt to all sorts of situations—there's an incredible recording of him DJing with four of the best grime and drum & bass MCs in the business—and on his RA Podcast he focuses on the techno side of things, with nearly two hours of pacey techno and creative mixing, with dips into acid, electro, garage and more. It's a party-starting mix from a genuine star, perfect for getting through the holiday doldrums or pre-gaming your NYE plans. Like Skee Mask's best records, it's something to enjoy in any number of settings.
