I take a lot of inspiration from 70s and 80s soul and funk artists. It was an amazing time for musical movements and Roy Ayers changed the game. For me its all about his passion and realness. ‘Everybody Loves the Sunshine’ is a classic and one that I wanted to share with with a new generation. 

Im really enjoying working with these old school vocals. Taking classic the blue sounds of R&B and rebirthing them for the bass generation. Rhythm & Bass.

Another Terrorhythm dubutant, KRNE (pronounced crane) lands in the shape of the brilliant "Zero Zero One E.P.".

First introduced to the label via his excellent contribution to Terrorhythm's Turquoise album given away just before Christmas last year, Zachary Krane was once known to his followers as "Krane". Under his new moniker, KRNE, we're introduced to what is perhaps the most intricate and complex production to land on Terrorhythm in the 12 years it has been operating as a label.

There are few words to describe the originality of the sounds coming from KRNE right now. Plastician has been gushing about this release ever since he begun spinning the tracks from it on Rinse FM some months back, and it's simple to see why he's so excited as you listen to the intro track, Aryah. Laden with teases of classic Aaliyah vocals, this one is equally rough and smooth. A blistering opening to what is a truly enigmatic 4 track E.P.

Following Aryah is "The Comedy". This one is no laughing stock though. Bringing the tempo down slightly, but keeping the energy up with KRNE's trademark bright and intricate synth work shining through, even on this, which is probably the darkest and most stripped-back of the E.P.'s tracks, listening in the headphones feels like an attack on the senses. The next track "Jangle" does not let up where The Comedy left off either. Sounds move from left to right and some make appearances so short on the track that you'll be questioning if you even heard them at all, this is the kind of music the term maximalism was made for.

Closing out the E.P. is the title track Zero Zero One. What starts off as a quite cute and bright number transforms throughout the track with some dark turns on the way. As the 2:30 mark approaches is where this really gets down to business, with some gorgeous vocal edits to round off one of the most exciting E.P's you're likely to have heard in a long time.

Comme un paysage du Nord où la chaleur colorée d’une aurore boréale ferait l’amour avec le froid polaire des neiges éternelles, JUMO marrie la danse et le spleen dans un tourbillon de notes ravageur. Au hasard d’un titre on découvre une basse groovante sur un beat chaloupé et des notes de synthés aux mélodies lo-fi et mélancolique. Flume rôde, Siriusmo guette, Hudson Mohawke acquiesce. La musique de JUMO s’inscrit dans cette mouvance électronique à la fois tendance et contemporaine. Elle mélange les genres, brouille les pistes et magnifie l’audace grâce à une production léchée. 
Solitaire schizophrène traversant les rues sombres d’un Gotham City à la recherche du sens de la vie, JUMO se projette dans le réel et dans ses rêves et nous y ouvre ses multiples portes.

Throughout the EP, JUMO becomes a storyteller where each track acts as a chapter: the main character is hunted by a tortured personification of his unconscious, which results in an audio-visual experience, reflective of the intricate conflict of the two. Composed of 5 chapters, JUMO journeys through a fable exploring the duality of birth, temporality and consciousness. By depicting antagonistic voices for these themes, the producer transcends the apparent paradoxes to create a nuanced and imaginative world, where “Hylé” finds its purpose. The process for the EP’s music composition and narration began in October 2013 and lasted a year. Recorded in Paris, “Hylé” is the result of an introspective work using different medium such as music, videos and graphic designs. Consequently, the EP had the time to mature in JUMO’s mind and continues to do so with the interpretation of others.

From the downtempo, wonky key structures on Swaggy, to the visceral bass growls on Murder, via an outing at 170bpm on Ferris Bueller... Anton F flexes his production muscles on this versatile and refreshing E.P. that serves as a perfect backdrop for the unpredictable but at some times beautiful British spring time.

Already enlisting plenty of fans for his trademark sound, this E.P. has been in high demand from followers of the label and has already enjoyed support from DJ's on Rinse FM, Radar Radio, NTS and BBC Radio One.
