Returning to the progressive trance sound that he initially built his name on, Artem Stoliarov aka Arty reprises the well-loved Alpha 9 alias for his latest Anjunabeats outing alongside London duo Koven.

Following a series of Arty instrumentals on the label throughout 2016 including ‘Patriots’ and ‘Follow The Light’ (alongside Andrew Bayer), ‘Only Good Mistake’ feat. Koven surprisingly marks the Russian producer’s first ever vocal single on Anjunabeats.

A vocalist and producer duo in the bass world, Max Rowat and Katie Boyle aka Koven have released on a number of renowned labels including Viper Recordings and Monstercat. 

Recent years have seen Arty himself explore all sides of the electronic music world, most noticeably in 2015’s diverse and experimental ‘Glorious’ LP. Elsewhere his mix for Moby’s iconic ‘Porcelain’ showed a deeper, broken beat side to his sound. 

In ‘Only Good Mistake’, however, the Russian producer defines a clear, singular melodic progressive house sound that has all the hallmarks of a festival hit and bodes well for the rebirth of the Alpha 9 alias.

ilan Bluestone and Maor Levi introduce Alex Clare to Anjunabeats on long-awaited single, ‘Hold On’.

Anjunabeats stalwarts (and best friends), ilan Bluestone and Maor Levi have been collaborating since 2011. Together, they’ve released the singles ‘Will We Remain?’, ‘Can You’ and ‘The Distance’, in addition to remixing Armin Van Buuren, Above & Beyond and Gabriel & Dresden.

In 2019 they launched their Elysian project alongside Emma Hewitt. Lead single ‘Moonchild’ broke just as the world entered lockdown, putting their tour plans on ice.. for now.

London based singer / songwriter Alex Clare first broke out in 2011 with ‘The Lateness of the Hour’ on Island Records. Produced by Diplo and Switch - the original Major Lazer lineup - the album included cross-Atlantic hits ‘Treading Water’, ‘Up All Night’ and ‘Too Close’, Alex’s double platinum single that hit Top 10 in the UK and US.

Two LPs followed: 2014’s ‘Three Heats’ and 2017’s ‘Tail Of Lions’ plus collaborations with Rudimental, Sub Focus and Don Diablo.

Following a chance meeting in 2017, Alex, Maor and Ilan got together to record ‘Hold On’. It’s been fine-tuned on the world’s biggest trance stages: Untold Festival, Creamfields and Dreamstate L.A.

“We always got shivers while listening to Alex’s ‘Too Close’. It was a huge record in the U.K.,” explain Ilan and Maor. “As it turned out Alex was teaching a friend of ours to play the guitar. Another mate went to the same gym as Alex, so managed to get in contact.”

“We originally sent Alex a different instrumental to record on. He sent us the vocal back and we were so inspired by it that we decided to create a completely new record that fit his vocal better.”

‘Hold On’ is about embracing every moment in life: “..it’s too short to be filled with tears.” With the world on hold, they are words we can all take to heart.

“Ilan put together some beautiful chords while I worked on the groove,” says Maor. “We wanted the message of the lyrics to shine through and we think we achieved that. It’s a powerful track.”

“We worked on the track remotely, finishing the first demo during Miami Music Week 2018 over video calls. It immediately felt like a special record even back then. Today, the song’s message feels more important than ever.”

‘Hold On’ is released through Anjunabeats on January 15, 2021.

ilan Bluestone & Maor Levi feat. Alex Clare - Hold On

Andain began as an experimental, electronica group in 2000. Singer/song-writer, Mavie Marcos, grew up performing in the theatre and studied classical voice in college. Her musical interests led her to play in acoustic bands until she moved to San Francisco in 1999. During that time she met, and started writing an album with, producer Josh Gabriel (Gabriel & Dresden) who had studied composition at the California Institute of The Arts and was then working as a burgeoning electronic music producer.

Andain's first effort "Summer Calling" was released in 2002 by Black Hole Recordings for their renowned In Search Of Sunrise series. This launched the band's name into instant celebrity in the dance world. "Beautiful Things," their follow up single best known for the Gabriel & Dresden Remix, soon after appeared with even greater success. The song has now become a dance classic, with YouTube views of over 20 million.

Despite the fact that Andain's first full-length album was never officially released -- many of the tracks still drew massive fan acclaim from leaked versions, and were licensed to network television.

Mavie and Josh continued to write together over the years. With the demands of Mavie's publishing deal with Nettwerk and Josh's ever increasing work as an award-winning DJ and producer, their second full-length album would have to wait. Much to their fans' relief, Mavie and Josh decided to reform as a duo, and the resulting full-length record is due for release in 2012.

The first single off the album, "Promises," was released on Black Hole Recordings in June 2011. "Promises" has since then appeared on many compilations, and reached #13 in SiriusXM's BPM Top 51 of 2011. The YouTube views of all "Promises" videos combined is over 1,5 million and counting.

Says Mavie, "We blended natural acoustic sounds throughout the album with electronic percussive ones. We made sure to keep our musical sound pallet, made up of our drum kits and analog synth sounds, consistent throughout. We thought this would result in the most compelling and intricate album for the listener - something that is meant to be listened to, in its entirety, as a cohesive piece of music - not just a string of singles. " The combination of Mavie's classical and rock background with Josh's never ending love of early 80's new wave, mean they balance each other beautifully.

"Much Too Much" is the second single of the upcoming album, and it is accompanied with an amazing video produced by Xanada Entertainment and directed by Jamie Redford.

Andain will be touring in 2012 as Mavie and instrumentalist Shreddward Braillif; using vocals, live sampling and looping, drum kits, synthesizers, guitar, piano, and bass to create their live sound.
