After months of careful preparation, we’re thrilled to introduce Hydrostatic Equilibrium [HNT002]—a full EP by our dear friend and inspiration, @arthurrobert. This release captures the essence of our sonic journey: the A side offers more energetic, driving tracks, while the B side dives into a more mellow and deeper end.

HNT002 features a unique collaboration between Arthur Robert and Aya on the track “Le Sense De La Vie.” The artwork cover for this release was also created by Aya.

If I'm not mistaken, it's been 7 1/2 years since I last made and shared a 'techno' mix. Despite a few years away from the scene, and a less techno-dedicated approach to buying records these days, the idea of putting something together has been niggling at me for a while. I had in mind a deep, mid-paced journey inspired by some of the festivals that I've attended in the last few years.

The tracklist isn't an exercise in wilful obscurity (there's hardly anything released in the last 12 months!), and I nearly abandoned it due to some scruffy transitions, but life's too short to obsess over such things!

'Toils & Snares' Techno Mix, Jan '25

A recent sonic memoir from a beautiful evening, playing a vinyl only (almost) set. Recorded under a snowy winter morning somewhere in the outskirts of Stockholm in December 2024.

This was by far one of the best Stockholm underground events that's happened the past 10 years. Massive props to the Stilio crew for their excellent effort.

Another Earth

A special midweek addition to the Ceremony mix series comes this week from Casper Clark aka Volte-Face. An artist I’ve long admired, Casper has worn many hats over the years including producer, DJ, radio show host and label head but is perhaps best known for his adventures in promoting events across London and further afield, starting out co-booking Adventures in the Beetroot Field at Camden’s Lock Tavern before running the seminal Blogger’s Delight at the same venue, to Glastonbury, The End and everywhere in between. After Blogger’s Delight ended Clark started promoting under the BleeD name for In Strict Tempo favourites Blackest Ever Black, Downwards and Diagonal amongst others. 

This recording, taken from London’s Unfold is a two hour journey of deep, brooding techno Volte-Face is synonymous with. In his own words: “Unfold CIV was my first Volte-Face gig since a fateful show at Tresor in 2019. It was good to be back. Apologies for the occasional glitches in the recording”

NECHTO returns with its second 12” vinyl compilation, continuing the mission of presenting 
forward-thinking techno from both rising talents and trusted names. Each of the six tracks 
adds a unique voice to the raw and honest collection.  

Mecha opens the record with “All My Love”, a hypnotic debut techno track shaped by years 
in drum and bass. Contakt follows with “Peak Jam”, a one-take hardware jam built around 
the warmth of a signature synth. “16th Symphony” by Human Safari is a jazz-influenced cut 
intended for special moments in a DJ set. Unspent delivers “Moog Gorning”, a track that 
shifts from percussive 4x4 to broken rhythm, carrying deep personal emotion. ARGIE’s 
“Strangers” captures the tension of connection and distance with layered percussion and 
melody. Franz Jäger closes with “Get Simon to sync”, a rave-influenced hybrid track 
designed for peak-time impact. 

With contributions from the UK, Poland, Malta, France, the Netherlands, and Sweden, this 
compilation once again highlights NECHTO’s dedication to showcasing both emerging and 
established artists while pushing the boundaries of modern techno.
