The comedian and writer Garrison Keillor introduces "Boys of the Lough" live at Carnegie Hall, February 23. 1988. - What an introduction - and audience! The recording made in my living room while playing the CD recording back through my recently repaired sound system. I guess the sound is best heard through good earphones. There has been no form of measurements or adjustment to calibrate the listening situation for best natural reproduction. The recorder is a Zoom H4n. Does this sound like a Concert hall or a living room to you?

En av favorittlåtene vi hørte på i russebilen vår. Vi hadde et veldig bra anlegg. Tror det var Jørund som lånte oss sitt bilstereoanlegg. Han satt vel ikke så mye i privatbilen i russetida, vi holdt oss sammen. En utrolig fin tid! Mange av oss fra den bilen har reist på gutteturer siden. Manchester, London, Roquebrune ved Nice i Frankrike, utdrikningslag og private fester. Vi møtes av og til i byen her, på Notodden eller i Sauherad og tar en pils og en middag i sammen.

Fiolin no 504 etter bestefar som høyrer til Per Anders og som har fått bytt ut fiolinhalsen med eit Hardingfelehuvud. Ho er strenga med fiolinstrenger og stol, men har understrenger som ei hardingfele. Spelar ein liten improvisasjon for å demonstrere lyden. Fela har hatt strenger på i omlag to timar enda berre. Og ho er relativt "aggressivt" satt opp med ein høgt stemt stol.

Opptaket er gjort via to akselerometre. Eitt oppe på stolen på basstrengsida og det andre nede på loket like bakanfor stolen. Han stend i mellom stolbeinet og der pinnen står. I prinsippet fungerar dette som om fela var "elektrisk". Etter kvart kjem det opptak der akselerometra sit i grepet på fela, på hakebrettet, og andre stadar, t.d. på vingane til lydhåla, så ein fær høyre korleis kroppen svingar. Samanlikne med det bineurale opptaket av same rudlen på same fela (PA's fiolinhardingfele), så de høyrer korleis lyden blir når han har blitt filtrert av kroppen på fela og luftrommet inni.
