This is the Phase II  Ep of Leo Anibaldi variations . After Evocation ep with Sebastian Mullaert (Minilogue) , Leo has proposed Markus Henriksson (Minilogue) to create a new version of (Always From Reality)  a track coming from the album Cannibald realized in 1992 . For the B side Leo has involved Donato Dozzy to create a new version of  Aeon Fusion 1 (1994) wich is a very particular tracks for thoose years considered by the statistics as one of the key tracks before the 'advent of  dub dark techno music .
The project will be out  1 th july on Cannibald Records strictly on vinyl .

Terence Fixmer’s career has spanned two decades with releases on many acclaimed labels. He has been accredited with pushing the boundaries of techno EBM and for the last few years has found a home at Ostgut Ton. 

Having remixed VCMG on Mute in 2015 and @depeche_mode in 2017 Fixmer’s contribution to the NovaMute catalogue is a natural fit. 

'Dance Of The Comets’ is a three track EP exploring the fringes of techno and hypnotic dance music. The title track is the most dance-floor ready cut with a thumping bass drum and kick.

Orion's sci-fi arpeggios use mesmerising drones, whilst 'The Silence' is an eery exercise in which otherwordly whispers are centred by a compelling bass motif.

After a ten year hiatus NovaMute, the subsidiary of Mute (@goldfrapp, @neworder, @liarsliarsliars, @moby) is back. Beginning in 1992 NovaMute released records from acclaimed electronic and techno artists such as @richiehawtin's Plastikman, Speedy J, @juan-atkins and many more.

Slam’s huge 2007 track ‘Azure’ with its idiosyncratic patch and pumping rhythm seems the perfect material for some unique remixing. These efforts by Carl Craig and Kink certainly don’t disappoint bringing both ideological and musical reshaping of the track to create two very different and equally powerful tracks. 

Carl Craig’s C2 remix takes on the ever-popular track in his legendary, inimitable style. Craig merges the melody and speeds it up making it a central part of the dynamic of the track. Fluidity and the hint of velocity give good movement to the track. This balanced setting is interrupted as the bass and heavy rhythmic shift emerge out of nowhere and the impact of the bass drum here is even greater than that of the original as the track builds in this extended version.  The strings and effects interact differently and all aspects help to sculpt a formidable variation.

The effect of Kink’s remix is one of a rougher, darker power. The pounding beat hits from the outset and the whole sound becomes more intense. Industrial effects almost tear through the track helping to concentrate a raw energy within all aspects of the sound. Again the progression speeds up dramatically with heavy bass kicking in just after the halfway point and powering through the track as the almost robotic samples add ideological adhesion to the track. The intricacy of samples and effects balances perfectly the dark power of this great remix.

On the last episode of 2018 Pfirter welcomes Medellin based DJ and producer Daniel Restrepo aka Astronomical Telegram. His first releases appeared on labels such as Labyrinth, Reaktivate, Naked Index, with Ukranian producer Stanislav Tolkachev having remixed one of his works. In this mix, Daniel features 'Pride' his upcoming track on our third edition of the Mutable Minds series that is due out end of December. Be on the look for Daniel's sound cause in 2019 he has scheduled releases on labels such as Modularz, Viran - Raffaele Attanasio's label - and Persistence. Following on from the last Live in Tokyo compilation, John Digweed's next album acts as a celebration but also a landmark release. Output in Brooklyn has been one of the shining lights in clubland with its forward thinking policies and attention to detail with mind blowing sound and lighting. Having been a regular behind the decks since it opened and having released a Live in Brooklyn album over 2 years ago you could say I have a real love for this space. When it was announced that the club was closing and I would be playing the very last set there I had so many mixed emotions from sadness to joy and an overwhelming pressure to deliver a party that a club of that stature deserves. I really put my heart and soul into that party drawing from my favourite tracks over the years. "The set seemed to fly by and there was just a constant sea of smiling faces from the dance floor all night long as the crowd literally savoured every record on that crystal clear sound system. After listening back to the set I knew this album had to come out and not just be another mix online. It deserved to be part of peoples music collection and a memento for years to come. We have managed to licence 6 cds worth of music from the night. I hope you can immerse yourself in one of my favourite sets in NY for years.

Slam get to grips with Envoy’s 1996 classic, ‘Dark Manoeuvres’ in this latest EP release. Soma have been bringing some of Envoy’s classic releases up to date with Slam following Ricardo Villalobos in reinterpreting the earlier work, all of which leads to May’s release on Soma of new material by Envoy. 

Dark Manoeuvres is a track which lives up to its name, the original expressing pumping, dark and crunchy sounds interspersed with string arrangements and overdubs which move the track in various different directions. The 1996 original is a great example of some production techniques of the time and is of interest in identifying the direction of the Techno sound in that era, as well as being eminently listenable. 

Slam were very much involved in the progression of Techno at the same time as Envoy was creating tracks such as Dark Manoeuvres and as such they have a real handle on how things have evolved, enabling them to bring a classic release such as this bang up to date. 

The distinctive hook, attention-grabbing melody and strings which are distinctive elements of the original are all incorporated in a full and fresh dynamic which sees some of these elements regrouped in individual sections such as the strings or moulded with deeper, darker resonance into a new expression. The hi-hat and kick drum interplay still drives the rhythm keeping that element as a prominent part of the track, setting a strong foundation that was integral to the original. Some of the more idiosyncratic elements of the original such as the aquatic overdubs, highlighting production, are reconstructed with use of modern technology to provide waves of highly imposing, building sound at crucial points in the track.

This is a great remix by Slam elevating the original track and elements within it to provide a new and totally engaging release which still expresses all the great qualities of the original. This will be a firm favourite with old and new fans of both Envoy and Slam.  

    


Envoy - Dark Manoeuvres (Slam Remix) (Soma 360d)

Involved in the industry since the late 80's, the Minas Gerais native is one of the most responsible for shaping and growing the country's electronic music, earning the respect of many national and international names, including the recognition of the legend Carl Cox. Noise has performed in more than 30 countries around the world, taking his extreme skill and sensitivity with him into the construction of his sets, as well as helping put Brazil on the Techno world map.

As an artist with a career spanning over 30 years and an extensive catalog of releases by several labels, reaching stratospheric numbers, and of course, also on his own label, Noise Music, the first Brazilian Techno label, which turned 23 years old in April 2022.

Noise has developed major collaborations with João Carlos Martins, Milton Nascimento, Daniela Mercury, Lulu Santos and many others, in addition to maintaining the Nie Myer project with band members Skank, Henrique Portugal and Lelo Zanetti.

In his entire career he has received dozens of awards, has been elected the best DJ for two consecutive years by DJ Mag Brasil, and for three years his name was included in the Top 100 list of DJ Mag UK, reaching the position of number 26 in the world in 2008.

Noise has been a producer for memorable parties throughout the 90s and during the 2000s, in unusual places in Belo Horizonte. He is also responsible for creating the first online electronic music radio station in Brazil, Radio Noise.

With an energy rare to be found, common only among the most talented artists, Anderson Noise, is that type of professional who looks at difficulties with responsibility, but doesn't feel intimidated. These are some of his abilities that you will be able to read about in his Biography “O Barulho da Lua” written by journalist Claudia Assef.
