Brazilian talent Classmatic is next up on Hot Creations with the two-track Toma Dale EP. Having already set dancefloors alight at the hands of label heads Jamie Jones and Lee Foss, the eagerly anticipated release drops this April. 

Classmatic explained how the release came together: “Everything started when I decided I needed a track to put in my sets with congas in. I live in Brazil and wanted something to represent the Latin sound as I didn’t have any tracks that incorporated this, so that's when Toma Dale ft Nfasis was born. Bape was literally inspired by some of the tracks Jamie Jones has been playing in his sets in recent years. I wanted to create a killer groove with acid influences and also produce a slightly different breakdown to what would be expected.” 

Toma Dale ft Nfasis achieves exactly what Classmatic set out to do. The track opens proceedings with enticing congas that instantly transport you to Latin America. Punchy drum pads pounce in and combine with the percussion to create a highly energetic base, as finely cut Spanish vocals are embedded to fuse everything together. Bape pays homage to the Hot Creations sound. Warm, soft, bouncy kick drums lead the track, joined by subtle acid sounds that tantalise the ears. The breakdown is perfectly placed with the addition of mesmerising vocals that fade in and out before the punchy, bass-heavy drums are hauled back in. 

Classmatic has built up a lot of traction over recent years, catching the eyes and ears of major heavyweights in the field, releasing under such labels as Solid Grooves and Hottrax and in 2021 he remixed Cloonees’ major hit, When The Sun Goes Down. Receiving support from artists such as Seth Troxler, Michael Bibi, Pete Tong and Loco Dice to name a few, it comes as no surprise when we say there is a bright future ahead for the talented artist.

Paco Osuna's record label Mindshake drops a new EP from Fer BR, who's an imprint favourite known for his groovy basslines and techy percussion.

Based in Spain, Fer BR has an eclectic style ranging from techno on the likes of Pig&Dan's Elevate to house music releases on Claude VonStroke's Dirtybird.

His extensive back catalogue also includes many other prestigious record labels such as Richie Hawtin's Minus and Adam Beyer's Truesoul, but Mindshake has been the main outlet for his tracks and this is his seventh solo release on the imprint.

His previous releases on Mindshake also include his 2020 album and this four-track EP is his much-anticipated return, after numerous remixes and collaborations with Paco Osuna under their shared Project 00 alias.

All four tracks are chunky house music with peak time energy and bumping rhythms that are perfect for the dance floor.

"Hiphouse Return" opens the release with its shuffling percussion and Spanish hip hop vocal sample. "Freaknesss" is a stripped-back cut with dramatic vocal phrases and a rolling bassline. "Honey Riff" has a wonky bassline and trippy vocals layered with jackin’ percussion. "Animal" closes the release with its dark and hypnotic groove that's underpinned by an acid-tinged bassline.

Nic Fanciulli returns to Hot Creations with ‘YSD, marking the release of his first EP on the illustrious label. 

With a myriad of projects on his plate, from commanding residencies at iconic venues such as Space Ibiza and Ushuaïa, to heading up his longstanding Saved Records imprint and championing talents like Dennis Cruz, Hot Since 82 and Francisco Allendes, it’s evident why Nic Fanciulli continues to stand as a beacon of undeniable influence and success within the electronic sphere. Having appeared as a remixer of Jamie Jones’ and Lee Foss’ famed ‘Benediction’ in 2014, the Grammy-nominated DJ/producer and label boss joins the Hot Creations family with original material for the first time, with his wealth of experience shining through across ‘YSD’. 

Honouring a classic, ‘YSD’ brings disco influences and pure house rhythms, diving into mammoth basslines and a thundering drum groove to present a masterclass in dancefloor euphoria.
