The result of years of verbal abuse.  Having to carry a violin to school every week left me wide open to ridicule.  This continued into my late teens where, just for looking ‘different’, I was subjected to much more of the same, ignorant vitriol.  So I thought, ‘I’m in a band now.  Sod you.  It’s my turn’.  It’s a song about taking it.  The resilience to keep going.  And the goal of having the last laugh.

. Like ‘Push’, ‘The Showman’ is another nightclubbing song.  This is an anthemic tribute to those Thursday nights at the magnificent ‘State Ballroom’ in Liverpool.   Getting dressed up, wandering around that lavish dancehall, not a care in the world.  Great music. Waving at people you didn’t know!  Smiling at people that you knew didn’t like you.  One big, huge act.  Performed to a backdrop of smoke and piercing laser beams.

Their sound has been compared to Ultravox, New Order, Depeche Mode, and Gary Numan.
All songs were recorded on a 4 track cassette player in 1987/88.
Now, in 2021, they’ve had their songs digitized, augmented and produced. Their authentic 80’s sound finally released.
