Anyone who ventured over to Ibiza last year or partied anywhere over the summer will have heard 'Bigger Than Prince' by Green Velvet and no doubt will have lost their shit to it simultaneously. 

It was without doubt one of the songs of 2013 and after a set of huge remixes from the likes of The Martinez Brothers and Hot Since 82, the Circus-released EP is now getting a fresh makeover for the imminent summer season.

As well as new remixes from Darius Syrossian, Jay Lumen and Coyu, label-boss Yousef has turned in his Circus rework of the track and if bumping, rolling grooves are your thing then the Scouse maestro's edit will be right up your street.

Premiere: Green Velvet 'Bigger Than Prince' (Yousef Circus Rework)

On our third release we present Moodfamily co-founder Beazar with his first complete EP - Short Circuit. 

'Asem' kicks off the EP with a clubby vibe. While jagged rhythmic percussion keeps the track on edge, a minimum of elements manage to keep you on your toes. Joran Van Pol strips it down even more in his remix and chooses a steady hypnotic adaption. Although 'Tricks' is tongue-in-cheeck, intricate melodic phases bring some earnestness to the table. This is in contract to the more subtle -, nuanced groove and sounds in 'Eerie', where vocal tricks, minimal melodies and tight, yet elaborate rhythms create a unique atmosphere. Future promise Andonian remixes Eerie and brings an after-hours vibe. This French duo manages to build tension, add numerous melodic textures and eventually tailoring it for the club while keeping focus at the same time.

Paris based duo Andonian returns to Moodfamily for a fully glowing EP consisting of two original cuts and one remix by the enchanting Vaal.

The title track leads you straight to the set of Carnivale. Seductive vocals whisper the main theme as a nifty beat supports a broiling bass line. Up and comer VAAL once again showcases her undeniable raw and pure talent with her interpretation of 'Sometimes You Fall'. After a hypnotic opening score, a stagnant groove leads to a high point, ending in an overwhelming joint effort of different synth themes. This contemporary view on electro from the robotic 80's is a true bombshell.

'Citizen' closes the package and displays Andonian's gentle side. This one seems to boil with a hint of curiosity. It's a contagious track with an intricate arrangement, sudden shifts and a complex yet intriguing melody. This debut EP is a statement, coherent yet different, timeless yet contemporary and manages to remain bold and astonishing.

On the occasion of the centenary of the Armenian genocide, I composed a musical piece of 100 minutes retracing the past 100 years of Armenian history, my origin country.

In 1915, the Armenian people were the victim of the first genocide of the twentieth century resulting in the killing of 1.5 million people.
In 1922, as a consequence of the first world war, Armenia was incorporated to the Federal Union of Soviet Socialist Republics. 
In 1988, increasing tensions with Azerbaijan lead to a war in Nagorno-Karabakh that lasted for 6 years. That same year, December 7, 1988, a devastating earthquake ravaged Armenia, killing 30,000 people. 
In September 21, 1991 following the fall of the USSR, Armenia became independent. 
Today, 100 years after the terrible events of 1915, Armenia is trying to rebuild and continues fighting for the recognition of the genocide still denied by its author. 

To illustrate this musical work, was realized an artistic film combining contemporary dance, Armenian traditional dance, plastic arts, visual expression and archive images. 

We have also put in place a donation operation to AGBU Association for building schools and hospitals in Armenia.

Erased Tapes label mates Ólafur Arnalds and Nils Frahm record and mix their first collaborative record between Reyjkjavík and Berlin as a surprise release for label founder Robert Raths.

The ambient/electronic work ‘Stare’ is a true family effort from Ólafur Arnalds and Nils Frahm with Anne Müller joining in on cello and all graphics by close label-friend and now in-house designer Torsten Posselt of Feld Studios.

This release will be strictly limited and exclusively available on Record Store Day 2012, April 21st. Coinciding with the 5th Anniversary of Erased Tapes, it’s also available from the official Erased Tapes online store and sure to become a must-have for fans of the label and these two artists.
