Pact Infernal's debut release 'The Descent [Chapter I] arrived in early 2015 on Samurai Horo. A slow flock of unexpected, but very welcomed, fans from outside of the labels normal market began to build. One of the more exciting admirers of the Pact Infernal EP was Berlin based Lucy who offered to rework 'Chapter I' into his own stylistic interpretations. The resultant 2 remixes incorporate elements from all 4 tracks on the first EP into 2 long pulsing, hypnotic grooves. If subtlety was the main instrument of the originals, Lucy's versions refine that instrument into a new form and sprinkle carefully plucked references delicately around his sinuous rhythms. Over 25 minutes of delightful audio hypnosis from one of the electronic worlds favourite individual voices.

As a follow-up to the sold-out and critically acclaimed ‘A Constant Preparation For Loss’ EP, Moe Espinosa’s Hypoxia presents 'Unwilling Suspension of Disbelief', a two track EP containing improvised pieces of music captured in front of a live audience in two cities on two continents.  
  
‘Distant Mystic’ was recorded in Berlin inside of a vast industrial hall that provides the perfect atmospheric environment to vaccinate melancholy in its melodies.  ‘ 

'Active Tension’ was recorded at the debut label showcase for BL__K NOISE.  The performance was orchestrated in front of the very close audience from which Hypoxia draws influence. 

This unpolished recording process embraces all the imperfections of improvisation and eschews any post production or overdubs.  Single tracks are performed live with a Make Noise shared system modular synthesizer through a Strymon blue sky reverb pedal. 
   
Like the first Hypoxia record, Hypoxia II was crafted 100% in Los Angeles, California with the artist’s hand in every step.  This personal approach to bring art to fruition proves tedious and time-consuming – the transportation of the raw vinyl material from manufacturer to pressing plant in LA traffic, the hand-pressing of each record in a blistering lab, the design of artwork and packaging, the shipping each order received to the artist’s bandcamp page.  Despite the toiling efforts, Moe feels this process is the most rewarding in sharing his work.

Limited to 300 color pressings, Hypoxia II comes in a large assortment of colors, carefully crafted by hand-mixing the vinyl materials and experimenting with different combinations at Capsule Labs in Los Angeles. The record will also be available on black vinyl for audiophiles preferring a higher quality sound. 

Colors will be selected at random when shipping.. Not one vinyl record will look the same there for it will be too difficult to match everyones custom requests....

Bjarki leads a pack of international artists who in the past few years have taken a hauntological approach to re-moulding the scents of breakbeat, rave, jungle, trance and IDM into sounds that are entirely their own. Already this year he began his own label bbbbbb with artistic sparring partner Johnny Chrome Silver, released under new alias Cucumb45, performed his new live show at clubs and festivals from Mutek ES and Peacock to Printworks, and recently announced a US tour for July.

TRP015 finds Bjarki in typical, monstrous, floor slaying form with four trance leaning tracks that have proved an inspiration for Nina Kraviz’s DJ sets over the past year.  Bjarki takes key aspects of trance and takes it for a headspin into the unknown - mangled percussion, disorienting voices, unravelling textural layers, sub aquatic bass frequencies and intense melodies. All make for a uniquely irreverent take on a much maligned genre that most of us secretly adore..

Drumcode returns with its 6th installment of the internationally celebrated A-Sides series. Renowned for fostering a shared space between industry tastemakers and rising talent alike, the careful curation that goes into each volume is a fine example of why Beyer’s brand continues to go from strength to strength.

Techno titan Adam Beyer has grown Drumcode into a force to be reckoned with; the label has become synonymous with forward-thinking, functional techno and even after 20 years, Drumcode continues to find new boundaries to push, and ways to solidify its legacy as the world’s number one techno label. 

2017 is no exception, with Beyer’s imprint hosting it’s first stage at Tomorrowland, not to mention the expansion of the critically acclaimed Junction 2 where the Drumcode stage is the centrepiece and Adam plays the key role of festival director. The Drumcode phenomenon continues to grow each week, chiefly fuelled by Drumcode Radio, Adam’s radio show that’s broadcast in 57 countries via 86 stations and to a global audience of 16 million techno fans per week. 

The A-Sides series acts as a perfect vignette of Drumcode’s cutting-edge sound; functional yet inspired techno, all tracks tried and tested by Beyer himself. Vol. 6 continues this tradition with a collection of 16 multi-faceted cuts from a mixture of both emerging artists and experienced label friends. 

The heart-throbbing bass in Amelie Lens’ electrifying piece ‘In Silence’ sets the tone for the dark and dance-floor-ready energy that Vol.6 carries the whole way through. Other standouts include Mars Bill’s rough’n’ready ‘Mohave’. Pulsating and precise, ‘Mohave’ has highlighted many of Beyer’s sets recently as has Wehbba’s monster track ‘Fake’, which fans have been anticipating the release of all year. 

Label-favourites Dense & Pika also feature on ‘A-Sides’ Vol. 6 with their hard-hitting ‘Just a Beat’ and a huge track from Beyer himself who has joined forces with Enrico Sangiuliano to bring us their undeniably infectious ‘Preset Heaven’. 

With many more notable selections from the likes of Julian Jewell, Timmo, Tiger Stripes and Pig&Dan, A-Sides Vol. 6 is another impressive addition to the label’s prolific release roster and a testament to why Drumcode remains at the forefront of the electronic world.
