While carefully handling their respective careers, postponing then their obvious collaboration, Möd3rn trio's members have capitalized its desire and now deliver its mere substance, in the rightest moment, where, simply, all the distant forces converge.
The six daring, expert hands merge now into a unique entity, unanimously moving within the same effort towards techno music. Of the distinct identities merely remains the ethereal, synthetic essence devoted to the group, and the common musical passion that leads it. The formula is elaborated freely: each one's adjunctions -subtle keys, nervous chords, underground blows, rhythmical uproars- pour into a thick maelstrom, opaque, condensing Detroit's grieving sensibilities as well as last decade's bewildering cacophonies. The potion obtained is irresistible, an ecstatic hybrid, prodigiously actual, that renders all the genre's diversity and dynamism.
Chance intertwined their paths and now the three companions celebrate both the friendship that resulted and the good fortune that has driven it, by improvising live together as one faceless, solid body agitated by the urge of dance and music, composing the material that shall be processed later on to form their eponym label's releases.

Tresor Records is glad to announce two releases by James Ruskin, coming in November 2019. The brand new Siklikal EP featuring four new productions, along with the remaster and reissue of Point 2 - Ruskin’s debut album on Tresor. 


First released in 2000, Point 2 marked a fine debut that entrenches the minimal sequences, utilitarian funk and eerie hypnosis found within Ruskin’s body of work. As Tresor’s relationship with the UK sound grew stronger across the course of the ’00s, it was Ruskin, the label owner of Blueprint Records, who played a critical part in this. Throughout the trio of LPs released over that decade, inspirations of the sci-fi minimal Detroit sound lie abundant, rendered through corporeal slammers typical of the UK vein.

Point 2 was the first of Ruskin’s trilogy for Tresor, and brought a direct and uncompromising vibrancy to the fore, from the aquatic symphony featured on ‘From Over The Edge’ to the pinpoint gaze of ‘Subject’. Gurning loops beat against alien samples, drained into refined abstractions of pure techno.

Newly remastered and featuring two tracks previously not cut onto vinyl, this upfront and bold classic is set to span dancefloors once again.


James Ruskin follows up with a bold new EP entitled Siklikal.

Right from the outset, Nepte draws in by vast sonics and laser focus, unruly synths distort over a skipping beat that hits hard in the right places. As the beat takes a backstep but no less rhythmic, Kn Te3 is one for adventurous DJs, recalling the minimal loops that Ruskin is known for, seeped in industrial melancholy that fizzes a granular decay.

On the b-side, Nocke brings the beat back to the forefront with a muscular UK techno sound, highly effective and pounding. Closing the EP is Kn Am3 which retains the industrial sinew of its near-namesake Kn Te3, exposing raw synth excursions over brutalist machinations. This EP symbolises Ruskin’s dynamic approach, pushing at boundaries yet never without a strong grip over the dancefloor.


Tresor.145 and Tresor.314 release November 1st and 8th on 180g. 2LP and 12" vinyl respectively.
