"Reduced BPM Balearic disco" enthusiasts Comfort Food Records are steadily building up a quietly impressive catalogue. This debut from previously unheard producer Hombre Solaire follows hot on the heels of essential EPs by Mellow Cat & Kathy Diamond and Poolside Polari. Predictably there's plenty to get the juices flowing across the three-track missive, from the drowsy early morning chords, twinkling electric piano motifs, toasty grooves and pitched-down vocal samples of "Dexter", to the yearning mid-tempo warmth of closing cut "Love Boat", where chiming new age synth stabs and glassy-eyed lead lines stretch out atop a head-nodding, toe-tapping groove. Sandwiched in between you'll find "Fernando", a surprisingly bass-heavy chunk of Balearic dub disco topped off with Mediterranean guitars and delay-laden vocal snippets.
