The Lucidflow release onslaught powers into 2017 with purpose with another release from production machine D. Diggler. A one time favourite when coming to the regular remix specials on the label, Andreas Mügge debuted in his own right with purpose with the 'Radium' EP, following in quick succession with 'Apricot' and 'Magenta'. The next release is titled 'Renegade' and pulls exactly zero punches whatosever.
Kicking off with the title track, we are in familiar territory with Andreas' trademark tumbling techno drums. Quickly things change, as a long and rubbery bass texture smoothly works its way into the mix. This keeps things undulating and progressive and works to join together the islands of melodic elements - arpeggio early on, gentle four note hook in the middle stretch, and the outgoing dub echo chamber at the end.
Next up are two variations of 'Substitute'. In its first guise, cavernous but muted low end rumbles between punchy beats as a guttural vocal emission powers the mix on. Slowly teasing out towards the lynchpin breakdown, the track suddenly sidesteps into bliss, finishing off with restrained euphoria. Following this, the 'B' variation is more about unresolved tension, holding a steady and dramatic string note near end to end, it's break is into the unknown reaches of space rather than the comforting bliss of its twin.
Swiftly sidestepping all you have experienced of the D. Diggler alias to date, 'Ghettoblaster' goes for trippy acidic electro. The 303 works in 3/4, waltzing around the warm electro undertones. You know what to expect here - attacks of resonance, additional 303 melodies - this is classically executed acid.

Lucidflow's 127th release comes from Buenos Aires based producer Hernan Bass. As owner of Krad Records, he manages to fit in a worldwide touring schedule as well as helming slots on a variety of esteemed radio shows. This tireless ethic has seen his releases span labels such as Innocent Music, Little Helpers, Baile Musik and a significant amount more, with tracks finding their way into both physical shops and right into the top 50 best selling artists of the minimal and deep tech genre at Beatport.
And this sums up his latest release for Lucidflow 'Malos Pensamientos'. It's a collection of groove led tracks embued with summer heat, which will no doubt be a welcome sound for souls that have started to notice daylight creep further and further into the night-time sky as each day passes.
The title track heads for the groove and drop structure. Intricately and astutely mastered beats cleanly power the track, the bassline providing fuel. Classic rhythmic drops are punctuated with chord stabs and a rising chord, subtly raising the drama before heading back to the groove.
Next is 'Lorenzo' and what you'll pick up most here is the "anger has a place... In all of this" and the nifty rimshot that pierces the track like a particularly prominent metronome. Again, the drops keep driving the intensity, powering through the track like a freight train.
Next up is 'Francia o Muerte', which teams proggy bass stabs, frozen chords and bubbling percussive tones to create a real gear shifting tool. Then 'Feeling Wrong' ties off the release with a more emotive moment, punctuated by the smoky whispers of Alya UA and cresting bluesy textures.

There are benefits to owning your own label. Besides being able to sign friends and newcomers alike, while heading up Lucidlow, Nadja Lind and Helmut Ebritsch have also been able to exert creative control over their Klartraum project to their own exacting specifications. Their last studio album 'Enneagram' was a conceptual piece that spanned four releases over the course of the year. Now their fourth album 'Void Universes' sees a similar concept, inspired by the teachings of Dr. Stephen Wolinsky, with each a quartet of releases themed to each one of the aforementioned universes. 
The first of these collections is 'Energy Void', which leads with a track that is the sheer epitome of the Klartraum sound. 'Sheng-Fui' is all things rubbery, be it the thwip of the reversed kicks or the huge elastic basslines that soars over the top. It manages to juxtaposition both driving and languid energies simultaneously, odd bedfellows that find themselves at home side by side.
Next comes 'Vision', which presses firmly into soundtrack territories, laden with atmosphere. There is a slight hint of bygone times James Holden about the chord progression, a beautifully light touch on the glockenspiel that dances across the soundscape in ballet shoes. A promise - just watch your finger creep back to the rewind button on this one.
Then 'Dystopia' lives up its name, conjuring up a vision of a utilitarian landscape shrouded the smog of industry. The percussion ticks with clockwork precision, the melodic elements that exist verge on the dissonant before being permitted to raise into a minor swell. Mood, gloom and thunderclouds, sometimes this is what we need to cocoon our thoughts.
Finishing off is 'Void Feeling Interlude', a breezy and drifting ambient palate cleanser, featuring smoky scattered spoke word from Victoria Scott, that will leave you hanging on for the following parts to slot into their rightful place.
